Sweet Treat Snow Globe Card
Looking for some great Black Friday specials? Don't forget Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Extravaganza sale! And when you place an order on my website (or via email) by Monday, you'll get a special gift from me and be entered in two drawings -- one winner will receive the Snow Buddies stamp set, that I used to make this card! Click here for all the details on the sale and drawings.
This snow globe card is so darling! You can mail it in one of the Sweet Treat Padded Envelopes (#116911, $2.95/3) available in the Holiday Mini Catalog or hand-deliver to your favorite snow buddy!
Let me breakdown some of the details. I punched the 1-3/4" Circle from a small piece of Whisper White cardstock. The circle that is punched out is stamped with the snowman. I colored it in with markers. Then, I added some fake snow (for the Christmas Village aisle of your favorite holiday shopping center) to the Sweet Treat cup. Not too much or it will cover up your snowman! Peel the backing off the Sweet Treat cup and gently place the stamped circle over the opening. It just barely fits. Apply adhesive to the back of your Whisper White cardstock, insert the Sweet Treat cup in the hole with the snowman right side up, and adhere to the Bashful Blue cardstock. (Note: The base of the snowglobe is the ornament from the Sweet Centers stamp set. You could also use the basket of the hot air balloon, which I think is a little more proportionate in size to the Sweet Treat cup.)
For the background paper, I used the Bride Speciality paper (#115669, $13.95). It comes with 5 sheets each of 2 different patterns (this one and stripes). I used the rubber brayer to apply ink to the paper. The iridescent design on the paper resists the ink and shows through the color. Isn't that cool? I've seen several people demo this technique...not sure who originally thought it up, but I love it! This paper can be used for so much more than wedding stationary! Just think of the possibilities as you brayer the designs in any of our 55+ colors!
Supplies: Snow Buddies, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sweet Centers, Many Merry Messages, Jet Black Staz-On, Chocolate Chip ink/marker & cardstock, Pumpkin Pie marker, Bashful Blue ink/marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Bride Speciality DSP, Rubber Brayer, Sweet Treat Cups, Ticket Corner Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, fake snow
I was inspired to use the Sweet Treat Cups to make the snow globe after seeing Iilina Crouse's card. Thanks for the inspiration, Iilina!

Thankful For...Presents!
Earlier this week, my 4-yr old daughter made a Thanksgiving placemat at preschool. The kids were asked what they were thankful for and the teachers wrote those things on hearts to put on their placemats. Claire's placemat said: "I am thankful for..." with two hearts: "flowers" and "presents"!
I couldn't help but think about presents today...trying to figure out holiday shopping and whether or not to brave the stores tomorrow. If you're looking for an easy way out of holiday shopping stress, you'll love today's project!
This gift card holder is a cinch to make and all you need is an envelope to fold in half! Ok, and some stamps and paper to decorate it with!
Supplies: Delightful Decorations, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Many Merry Messages, Ruby Red ink, Whisper White cardstock, Whisper White Medium Envelope, Holiday Lounge DSP, 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Ornament Punch, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals
Click here to see another envelope gift card holder and more information about how to make it yourself.
And as you plan your holiday shopping this weekend, don't forget to check out the Holiday Extravaganza sale in my Online Store. You'll get a free gift and be entered in two special prize drawings when you place your order with me by Monday. Make sure to check out the brand new items in the Clearance Rack section too -- for savings up to 80% off on discontinued merchandise.

Shimmer Mist Texture Frame Card
Great news from the doctor today and all is well with my pregnancy. Hooray! So much to be thankful for this year! I was waiting to hear before I registered for Leadership, but now I am all set to go! Can't wait! And I hope to see some of you in Phoenix in January!
I love, love, love the card I'm going to share with you tonight. We did it in Stamp Club this month and it's so shimmery in person. The two techniques on this card aren't new and I can't take credit for them, but I think they are both genius. Let me show you the card and then I'll break it down.
Here's a close-up so you can see the shimmery texture:
First, the shimmer mist part. I mixed 1 tsp-ish of Frost White Shimmer Paint (from the Holiday Mini Catalog, any color will work) with 1/2 bottle (I used a Stampin' Mist bottle) of rubbing alcohol. Shake well. (Use rubbing alcohol instead of water because it dries faster.)
I didn't want the middle to be shimmery, so I used a piece of heavy cardboard (cut from the Ovals die with the Big Shot) and put it in the center of my cardstock. Then, I sprayed the entire cardstock evenly.
Then I took the entire thing (cardboard on top of cardstock) and put it face down on a Texturz plate (a flat Texturz plate, not the embossing folder). I covered it with the Silicone Rubber and Impressions Pad like normal and ran it through the Big Shot.
The cardboard prevents the cardstock from being texturized in the center and the result is a stunning "faux frame" that really pops!
Supplies: Berry Christmas, Real Red ink & cardstock, Soft Suede ink & cardstock, Old Olive ink, Whisper White cardstock, Frost White Shimmer Paint (mixed with Rubbing Alcohol), Stampin' Up! Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Oval die, Big Shot, 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots

Dasher Deer Card
As I am typing this, my husband's plane should be landing at the local airport. He's been gone all week on a business trip and he's coming home for just a short while...pretty much to switch bags and then leave to go to his dad's to go hunting this weekend. (sigh) The kids don't even know he's stopping home because they are already in bed and won't see him until Sunday. It's been a long week and I'm so tired! I hate being "on duty" all day and all night. I look forward to Sunday and especially Monday morning when Jim can deal with middle-of-the-night and early morning "wake up calls".
I managed to put together a card for him today with an encouraging word for this weekend. I slipped it in his bag so that he'll find it when he's at his dad's house.
I used the Dasher stamp, but I didn't want all of the antlers to show up, so I inked it with my marker and only colored part of it.
Supplies: Dasher, All Year Cheer (retired), Autumn Traditions DSP, Soft Suede ink & cardstock, Always Artichoke cardstock, Sahara Sand cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, 1/4" Always Artichoke Ribbon, Earth Elements Brads, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Photo Corner Punch, Stampin' DimensionalsClick HERE to Order Stampin' Up! Christmas Jingle 6x6 Scrapbook Pages
Whoopsie Doodle! I had intended to post this last night, but took a break to watch Top Chef and then fell asleep with 5 minutes to go! I hate when that happens! I saw who won the challenge, but didn't get to see who had to "pack their knives". Does anyone know? Leave me a comment and fill me in!
So, here are the pages I wanted to share:
Last week, my downline Jessica stayed overnight after a group meeting and we stayed up until the wee hours of the morning (3:00 am!) designing a 6x6 album for a workshop she is doing this weekend. (If you're in the Springfield area and would be interested in attending this intergenerational workshop on Saturday, click here for more info.) It's been awhile since I stayed up that late stamping. And although I enjoyed the quiet and peace that comes with late night stamping, I certainly paid for it the next day! And it didn't help that my 4 year old got up at 5:15 am!
Anyway, for the album we used half (actually less than half!) of the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit to design 7 two page layouts and a cover. The album will be bound on the side...with rings or ribbon. The class is only two hours, so we kept the layouts clean and simple. I like this style anyway because it lets the photos shine on the page.
Christmas Jingle is a really great Simply Scrappin' Kit and is designed to be used for both scrapbooking and card-making.

Calendar Blocks
I just love this project that Carrie Cudney demonstrated at the Cincinnati Regional Seminar in September. I embellished mine a little differently (and I think I need to add a little something else to some of the white space...), but it was super easy!
The calendar comes as 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" squares, so you'll have to trim it down a little to get the 3" x 3" size you need to fit on the block. I adhered the calendar and Designer paper with Tombow Multi Adhesive and then embellished the sides of the middle one with the Fancy Folds die in coordinating colors and pieces from The Write Stuff specialty paper.
One hint: When you layout the calendar pages, make sure to alternate so that months that run together are on different blocks so that you can rearrange the stack each month to show the previous month, the current month, and the next month, or the current month and the next two months.
On Block #1, you should have: January, April, July, October
On Block #2, you should have: February, May, August, November
On Block #3, you should have: March, June, September, December

Super Star Birthday Card
Whenever I need a card for a little boy and I don't have much time to stamp, I always fall back on stars. That was the case again today as I made up a card for my son's school friend. Kids don't really care what the card looks like anyway, right?! Well, I was happy with the final result, even if the birthday boy didn't care!
Supplies: Starring You, Wow Flowers, Taken with Teal ink & cardstock, So Saffron cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, So Saffron Patterns DSP, Storybook Speciality DSP, Star Punch, Small Star Punch, Soft Subtles Brads, 1/16" Hole Punch

Serene Snowflakes Reverse Masking Card
Here's the last card from last weekend's Christmas Card class. I also whipped up some to swap at tonight's demonstrator meeting. (If you live in the Champaign-Urbana area and would like to attend as my guest, call me this afternoon!)
I love the clean look of this card. Wish I could take credit, but I CASEd it! The original, by Kristin Moore, was a vertical card. I turned it for a horizontal layout.
It looks much more complicated than it is. To do this "Reverse Masking" technique, cut an oval (or circle or other shape) from a scrap piece of cardstock. This is the "mask". Place it over your good cardstock. Stamp inside the cut out (stamp over the edges of the mask too!) and then use a sponge to sponge inside, around the edges or the entire cutout area. Lift the mask and reveal the faux layer you've created. Then stamp another image overlapping the faux layer and add a greeting. So easy!
Supplies: Serene Snowflakes, Four the Holidays, Bordering Blue ink & cardstock, Night of Navy ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Coluzzle, Stamping Sponges, Ticket Corner Punch, Rhinestone Brads, Paper Piercer

Rudolph & Sneak Peek Tease
Oh my heavens!!! Today, Stampin' Up! posted the Occasions Mini Catalog and then Sale-a-bration Catalog and the new Definitely Decorative Brochure online for demonstrators to view. I can't tell you anything about it except that they all start on January 5th for customers. If you're a demonstrator though, you get to pre-order goodies from these catalogs in just two weeks, on December 1st! And of course, as a demonstrator, you get a discount on your order. {happy sigh} I love being a demonstrator!!
If you've been thinking about it, but haven't taken the plunge yet, join my group now and you'll have immediate access to viewing these catalogs and can be one of the first to get these new products when you pre-order next month. Sign up under me by November 30th and I'll send you a selection of my favorite new products after I pre-order next month! Click here to learn more about starting your own business.
Okay, enough teasing about the new stuff. I know you're gonna love it and can't wait for you to see it to! In the meantime, here's another card from my Christmas Card class last weekend. I ordered the wrong size white envelopes, so I had I specifically came up with this card to use Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White (which I tend to favor). I really love the way this card turned out!
You can't really see the glitter on Dasher-turned-Rudolph, so here's a close-up. I used 2-Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add the sparkle.
Supplies: Dasher, Christmas Greetings, Real Red cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Soft Suede ink & cardstock, The Write Stuff Speciality DSP, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Bold Brights Brads, Top Note die for the Big Shot, 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon

Delightful Decorations Circles Card
Here is one of the cards we made at last weekend's Christmas Card Class. I love the retro feeling the Holiday Lounge DSP gives this card.
Supplies: Delightful Decorations, Teeny Tiny Greetings, Ruby Red ink, Bermuda Bay ink, Whisper White cardstock, Sahara Sand cardstock, Holiday Lounge DSP, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Ornament Punch, Silver Cord, Silver Brads, 1/16" Hole Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals
The layout comes from another card that is part of my Merry & Bright Christmas Card Kit. I like the Christmas Cocoa paper and colors even more than the Holiday Lounge paper. The ornament image comes from the Merry & Bright rub-ons. You'll receive a full package of the rub-ons when you purchase the card kit. Click here for details.
Supplies: Merry & Bright Rub-Ons, Soft Suede cardstock, Real Red cardstock, Christmas Cocoa DSP, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Ornament Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Happy Birthday Cupcake Card
This is two days late now, but please know that I enjoyed resting much more than you would have enjoyed seeing this card on Sunday! (wink!) I'm mostly feeling better, but have some occasional pooped out moments. That and the computer just wouldn't cooperate last night. It locked up for an hour and I finally gave up and went to bed!
I made this card for Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 9. The challenge is over, but watch for a new one next Sunday if you want to play along. These colors were challenging for me...probably because Pink Passion and Real Red are so close...they are both very dark colors. I almost switched it to Pixie Pink for more contrast, but I stuck with it and used the red for the cherry.
Supplies: On a Pedestal, Wow Flowers (greeting), Polka Dot Background, Pink Passion ink & cardstock, Crushed Curry marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Real Red ink pad, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Corner Rounder, Basic Black Gingham Ribbon

Gate Fold Christmas Card
I had a great time stamping with some of my Springfield stamper pals this morning. Thanks for coming to my Christmas Card class! Everything went smoothly and we even finished early! I need to take pictures of then cards we made and then I'll post them. In the meantime, here's another make and take from Convention. (Oops. I just realized that red ribbon is crooked. It should be centered on the DSP...)
I love the unique fold on this card. It's called a "gate fold" and there's a "belly band" of Designer Series Paper and ribbon that keeps the card closed. Just slide off the belly band and open the card!
Supplies: Tree Trimings, Sweet Season, Garden Green cardstock, Real Red ink & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Chocolate Chip ink/marker, Merry Moments DSP, 3/4" Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon, Linen Thread, 1/16" Hole Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" Circle Punches, Clear Rhinestone Brads

Medallion Emboss Resist
I just love this card! It's really simple, but the color makes it pop! I was hoping to get some other photos taken of the how to, but I ran out of time. If you think you need to see it, leave a comment and I'll see what I can do!
Here's the card, inspired by Shelli's presentation at the Cincinnati Regional Seminar.
I started by clear embossing the Medallion image on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I stamped the Medallion image in color on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut it out. I kept the leftover piece of the cardstock that had the outline of the Medallion cut from it and used that as a mask. I placed it around the embossed image and then used sponge daubers to sponge three different colors all over the Medallion. I used Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry. The mask kept the line around the Medallion nice and clean and crisp. I used a cotton ball to gently rub off any excess ink off the embossed image. Viola. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!
Supplies: Medallion, Upsy Daisy (greeting), Whisper White cardstock, Versamark ink, Crushed Curry ink & cardstock, Melon Mambo ink & cardstock, Rich Razzleberry ink, Sponge Daubers, Clear Embossing Powder, Ticket Corner Punch

Birthday Card Trio
Sorry I missed posting the last two days. It doesn't take much to wipe me out and Tuesday night's downline meeting in Springfield did it for me! I spent all day prepping and all night doing the meeting. It was a great meeting -- thanks to everyone who came and participated! Yesterday was my recovery day and I have to confess that two of my bags from the meeting are STILL up by the front door. I haven't even brought them downstairs yet!
Enough excuses! I owe you some extra cards, so here are THREE cards I made for October birthdays that I missed. I used the same stamp and color palette and played around with some different variations. I think I like the third one best. Leave me a comment and let me know which one is your favorite.
Card #1 Supplies: Party Hearty, Everything Nice, Crushed Curry ink & cardstock, Melon Mambo marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock
Card #2 Supplies: Bitty Birthday, Everything Nice, Crushed Curry ink & cardstock, Melon Mambo marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Versamarker, Ticket Corner Punch, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
It's hard to tell in the photo, but the card front is cut off on the bottom, right under the white strip of cupcakes. So the yellow cardstock underneath that is actually the inside of the card.
Card #3 Supplies: The More the Merrier (hostess level 3), Everything Nice, Crushed Curry ink & cardstock, Melon Mambo marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock,

Toys & Trinkets Christmas Card
Here is one of the cards from my Merry & Bright Christmas Card Kit. I designed the cards using the Merry & Bright Rub-Ons from the Holiday Mini catalog. The package includes two sheets of rub-ons (one silver and one white), so my card kit makes 16 cards total. There's even rub-ons for the inside greetings! Click here for more details or to buy the Merry & Bright Christmas Card Kit. The best part of the kit is that everything is included. You don't need any extra stamps or ink -- just adhesive!

Berry Christmas Wreath Card
This was one of the make and takes from the Cincinnati Regional Seminar. The seminar was back in September and I finally got around to making this card last week! The original card had a piece of red ribbon stapled to the bottom right, but I added a 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon to the left side instead. I am thinking of making this one of the cards for my Crazy for Christmas Card class this weekend. We're doing a Friday night session in Champaign and a Saturday morning session in Springfield. Check out my Calendar of Events for more details. Send me an email or call if you want to sign up -- there's still room!
Supplies: Berry Christmas, Whisper White cardstock, Certainly Celery ink & cardstock, Soft Suede ink & cardstock, Real Red ink, 1/2" Circle Punch, 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
