I wish I could say that I made this myself, but the truth is that I don't own a sewing machine. Not only that, my husband is the one who sews buttons back on! About the only sewing I do is mending stuffed animals for the kids!
Given my sewing history, I was thrilled to receive this special gift at Leadership Conference in January. Every attendee received a hand-sewn quilt square made by the Stampin' Up! employees in Kanab, Utah.
The pieces of the flower were cut using the Big Shot. That's right! It's not just for cardstock! You can cut many materials using the big shot, including fabric, felt, cork, soda cans, leather...
Click here for details, instructions, and the pattern to make this quilt square.
At Leadership Conference, Shelli showed us several ideas for how we could use our square. She turned one into an apron, a pillow, and a hot pad. But I'm sure you can guess with my lack of sewing skills, that my square is still just a square. (wink!) Click here to check out photos of Shelli's projects. You'll also see some cards with the Elegant Trio stencils I featured last week AND a peek at a project using a new Summer Mini catalog stamp set. (The Summer Mini catalog won't be released until May, although demonstrators can pre-order from this catalog starting April 1st. Click here for more information about becoming a demonstrator so you can enjoy this benefit too!)

Pretty in Pink Fresh Cuts
I broke out my Fresh Cuts stamp set from the bottom of the stack in the back of my stamp cabinet. I almost forgot about this stamp set. I choose it for the script background, which I thought would be great in black and white for Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 23.
When I was looking back at older project, I came across this layout, which I just love. Click here to see my original card using the same layout.
Supplies: Fresh Cuts, Pretty in Pink ink and cardstock, Whisper White Craft ink & cardstock, Basic Black cardstock, Jet Black Staz-On Ink, Kraft cardstock, Sahara Sand ink, Blender Pen, 2-Way Glue & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

I'm disappointed that the sparkle doesn't show up better in the photo. Here's a close-up, but it still doesn't do it justice.

Top 5 of March 2009
Earlier this week, I was looking for an older project and I started browsing though several months of previous posts. I ran across a few favorites and it made me sad to think they are kind of "buried" on my blog. So, each month I will post my Top 5 favorite projects from the same month last year. I hope you enjoy these projects from last March. Click on each photo to go to the original post.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great weekend!

Vintage Vogue Top Note Card
When I first saw Kay Kalthoff's Vintage Vogue card, the layout reminded me of the first Sweet Pea Felt card I made (see it here). I love how she used the stamps in place of the felt on the top half and it inspired me to make this spring flower card for Tammy's workshop earlier this week:
Supplies: Vintage Vogue, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Pretty in Pink ink, Certainly Celery ink, Close to Cocoa ink, Barely Banana ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Sweet Pea Designer Series Stack, Clear Rhinestone Brads, 1/16" Hole Punhc, Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Top Note die for the Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensionals

Simply Adorned Bracelet
In addition to the necklace chains and charms, the new Simply Adorned line also includes bracelets! The small charms are available in circles and squares and look great with just one charm on a bracelet, or a whole bunch!
The dimensions of the image on the inside (both for circle and square) is about 1/2". The 1/2" Circle Punch is perfect for the circle charms. For the square, I just eyeball it and cut with scissors after I stamp my image.
The Tiny Tags set has 17 perfectly tiny images and sentiments that can be used with the Simply Adorned line of charms--or just to make a tiny project! And it coordinates with the Medium Jewelry Tag punch. I just love stamp sets with coordinating punches!
Supplies: Tiny Tags, So Saffron cardstock, Ruby Red marker, Always Artichoke marker, 1/2" Circle Punch, Simply Adorned Charm & Bracelet

Best Buddies 12x12 Scrapbook Pages
I made these scrapbook pages for my friend Tina, who hosted a party for me last night. I forgot to bring my camera, so I took some pictures with her camera before I left. Sorry they area a little washed out and blurry!
I love the way the pages turned out! It's probably because her kids are so darn cute and the photos we used on the pages are beautiful! They coordinated perfectly with The Write Stuff Speciality Designer Paper (#115674, $11.95), which includes double-sided paper and matching die-cuts.
Supplies: Just Perfect Alphabet, Schoolbook Serif Alphabet, Soft Suede ink, Whisper White cardstock, Old Olive cardstock, The Write Stuff Speciality Designer Paper

Sweet Pea Bitty Box & Cards
Here is the last of the five make and take projects we made at the Spring Into Stamping meeting. I think this one is my favorite! It's so darling!
The box is cut from the Bitty Box & Envelope XL die (#115967, $42.95).
The cards are 2" x 2" and embellished with the Sending Love Notes Kisses (#118779, $3.95/20) and Sweet Pea Stitched Felt (117266, $7.95). They cards fit inside the Small Square Glassine Envelopes (#117226, $4.95/20) -- and all of it is perfectly sized for the Bitty Box.
We made the same project in Stamp Club, but put candy inside the box instead of the notes. I have three sets made up with all the notes and envelopes to give to the next three people to host a party with me. Call or email me to set a date and reserve your gift!
Supplies: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Chocolate Chip ink & textured cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Sending Love Notes Kisses, Small Square Glassine Envelopes, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, Bitty Box & Envelope Die for the Big Shot, Medium Jewelry Tag Punch, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread, Tombow Multi Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip

I always get excited when a new demonstrator joins our group. New demonstrators have so much excitement and enthusiasm and it's usually contagious! I get excited about my "job" all over again. So Shelli Vintage CASE
Those of you who know Shelli Gardner, the CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up!, will agree that this card is "so Shelli". So it wouldn't be a huge surprise to tell you I CASEd the idea from her blog! Shelli has been blogging about her cross-country workshop tour and this stenciled card was one of the make and takes at one of her recent workshops. Mine is a little different, but the concept is the same. I just love the combination of the Elegant Trio Decor Stencils (#118362, $9.95) and the Vintage Labels stamp set. My stamp club members loved it too and several of them bought the stencils and ended up choosing the Vintage Labels as their free Sale-a-bration gift! (You can order these products in my Online Store right now!)
Shelli hosts a monthly challenge on her blog and this month's theme is stenciled projects. I'll have to come up with something more original to submit. Maybe I'll sit this month out though since I was just picked as a winner of last month's challenge! (SMILE) I was pretty excited and honored to see my name on the list! Check out my winning card here.
Here's another version of my stenciled card. I was trying to bring it some color to make it more springy, but I decided I liked the sepia toned card the better since it feels more vintage and elegant.
Supplies: Vintage Labels, Soft Suede ink/marker & cardstock, Sahara Sand ink, VeryVanilla cardstock, Thoroughly Modern DSP, Elegant Trio Stencils, Small Oval Punch, Corner Rounder, 1/16" Hole Punch, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Color Spritzer Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Friend Door Hanger
Do you ever bite off more than you can chew? Looks like I over-estimated how much I could accomplish yesterday and as a result, my Chalk Grid Line Tutorial got posted a day late. Sorry about that! Thanks for your patience though! Here's an extra post to make up for it!
This door hanger was another one of our Spring Into Stamping projects. I designed it with the thought of leaving a note and treat for my neighbors, to invite them to a Stampin' Up! event at my house. It would also be great for kids , Teacher Appreciation Day...really, anyone who has a door and an occasion to celebrate!
In the photo, there's a nail file in the pocket. It was sitting on my desk and coordinated, so I stuck it in there for the photo. You could wrap a chocolate bar with Bermuda Bay Patterns DSP and it would look -- and taste -- even better!
I know you're going to ask, so here are the measurements: the Elegant Eggplant cardstock is 4" x 12". Score is at 7-1/2" and 11". Fold up the pocket and secure with brads. For a bigger pocket to hold something bulkier, add another score line in the middle...like 7-1/2" and 7-3/4".
Supplies: With All My Heart, Elegant Eggplant ink & cardstock, Bermuda Bay ink & cardstock, Melon Mambo ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Silver Brads, 1/16" Hole Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Chalk Grid Lines Tutorial
Stampin' Pastels is one of my favorite accessories. I think it's such a great value -- all 48 Stampin' Up! colors plus 3 neutrals for only $24.95 (#105542). It's great for beginners to color in line-art images (with or without the blender pen) or use with the Versamark for the Poppin' Pastels technique. Here's another great technique using this basic tool to get even more bang for your buck!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Top of the mornin' to you! I almost forgot it was St. Patrick's Day until I woke up this morning. I didn't get a chance to makeover breakfast, but for lunch, we had Shamrock-shaped sandwiches (cut with a cookie cutter) and green milk!
If you're seeing green today, you'll love this card. I used the Chalk Grid Line technique to do the background. Come back tomorrow for a tutorial on how to do this with the Stampin' Pastels chalks! Until then...Happy St. Patty's Day!

Spring Into Stamping Make & Takes: 6x6 Friend Page
Here's another project we made at the Spring Into Stamping meeting. It's a 6x6 scrapbook page.
It's pretty self explanatory...for the Elegant Eggplant block, I punched 3/4" circles from Elegant Eggplant cardstock and adhered them to the rectangle for a faux dry-embossed look. Here is the card version; just fold the 6x6 cardstock in half to make a 3" x 6" card.
The picture on the scrapbook page is of me and my downline Jessica Ingold from Convention last year. It's hard to believe it's almost time to think about Convention again! Registration starts in less than a month. Stampin' Up!'s annual convention is like nothing else! But you have to be a demonstrator to come with us! Sign up by the end of March and you'll save 15% off the Starter Kit PLUS get a FREE stamp set (any price) AND a special sign-up gift from me! Click here for more information. I would love to help you start your own business -- whether you just want a discount on your purchases or the next Rising Star!
Supplies: With All My Heart, Bermuda Bay ink & cardstock, Melon Mambo marker/ink & cardstock, Elegant Eggplant marker/ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Kraft cardstock, Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Silver Brads, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Spring Into Stamping Make & Takes: Cards
We had five make and take projects at the Spring Into Stamping meeting. Here are the two cards: clean and simple and perfect for an easy workshop make and take.
This second card was inspired by another demonstrator, but now I can't find the original to give credit to her. I love the way she had the circles peek-a-boo from the inside of the card. Here's my take on it:
Don't you love the colors? It's Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant, and Bermuda Bay. I'm working on a new Project Kit with some of these designs. Watch for it early next month!

Spring Into Stamping Highlights
I mentioned a little bit about the event in my last post. Our Spring Into Stamping event really turned out great! Everything always seems to fall into place and I think we make it look much easier than it actually is! It takes a lot of people and a lot of time to prepare and pull it off. Thanks to everyone who helped out to make the event such a huge success!
I should have taken more photos, but I'll share a few that I did. In addition to the workshop presentations by Tammie Rundle, Mary Ellen Stites, and Susan La Croix (that's my mom!), we had over 10 different product demonstrations by many talented demonstrators in our group. Sherla Carpenter, Kim Peck, and Meg Loven shared some great ideas about reaching new customers with Decor Elements, Simply Adorned Jewelry, and My Digital Studio (respectively). And after Laura Yates and Rachel Chamberlain's demonstrations, I think I'm finally going to cave and buy some colored glitter! Rae Anne Littrell had the most beautiful projects using a variety of techniques to create paper and ribbon flowers. I can't wait to try them out! Nancy Hawthorne showed off some pretty easel cards and shared some easy tips to put them together. Cathy Roy wow'd with her Simply Scrappin' projects. Jan McGowen got punchy with her display and showed some different ideas with Paper Lace. Jessica Ingold showed off her out-of-the-box creative side with her Kids & Lids demo, showing us a variety of projects using frozen juice lids! And Stacey Schafer sold me on the Glassy Glaze embossing powder with the Cracked Glass technique. Check out her Cracked Glass samples here.
My favorite demonstration of the day was Leslie Sollars, who showed us the Waterglobe card technique. I was AMAZED to see her use WATER in the Sweet Treat Cups to create these fishy cards.
Leslie started with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter, added the water (yes, just plain water!) and sealed the Sweet Treat Cup (#116802, $2.95/8) with a small piece of Window Sheet (#114323, $4.95). The waves were made from the Swirly Decorative Strip die (#113456, $19.95) and the stamp set with the little fish is Something Sweet (#117688 (W), $27.95) from the Occasions Mini Catalog.
Who would've thought!? Water in a card! Leslie said she CASEd this idea from Australian demonstrator Vanessa Webb.

Card Contest Winner
Sorry I'm late at posting the winner for my card contest. I was locked out of my office all day on Friday (we literally had to break the door knob and bust in!) and yesterday, I spent the day at our Spring Into Stamping event...and then crashed on the couch at night. The event was a huge success! We had just over 65 demonstrators attend. The demonstrations were incredible, the presentations very informative, and the door prizes and gifts were generous! Everyone seemed to like the Make and Takes that I designed. (Watch for those to be posted in the coming week.) But before I get into Spring Into Stamping highlights, I wanted to share the winning entry to my With All My Heart Card Contest!
First, thank you to everyone who sent in cards and projects. I didn't have enough room on the display board for all the cards and had to set some out on the table. The variety of projects on display really highlighted the versatility of this stamp set.
My husband picked the winner from all of the contest entries. And that winner is....Cam Cao!! Congratulations, Cam! Your card is beautiful!
Supplies: With All My Heart, Rich Razzleberry ink/marker & cardstock, Orchid Opulence cardstock, Old Olive marker & cardstock, Crushed Curry ink, Whisper White cardstock, Basic Black cardstock, Cottage Wall DSP, Corner Rounder, Scallop Trim Border Punch (SAB), Scallop Oval Punch, Fancy Flower Punch, 1/16" Hole Punch, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Linen Thread, Rhinestone Brads
Cam will receive the cards-only version of my Whimsical Wings Card Kit. (I gave this kit a "makeover" using the With All My Heart stamp set. Check it out: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3)
Jim also selected a runner-up, and since this person sent 7 different cards for the contest, I want to recognize her also. Congratulations, Barb Hopper! Here is the card that Jim picked as runner-up:
Supplies: With All My Heart stamp set, Sweetheart stamp set (stem), Night of Navy ink & cardstock, Crushed Curry ink & cardstock, Dusty Durango ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Old Olive ink, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Fancy Flower Punch, Summer Sun Corduroy Brads
Barb, I'll be sending you the Whimsical Wings Card Kit, too!!
Thanks again to everyone who participated!

Best Wishes: Cards for Top Sales Achievers
This year I am trying to be better about acknowledging my downline for their achievements. I don't think I was bad at it before, but I want to be more consistent. So I started sending cards to the top 5 sales achievers in my group each month. Nothing makes me feel more special than getting a card in the mail, so I hope it is having the same effect on the fabulous ladies in my group.
Here is this month's card, also one from my class last Saturday. The layout was inspired by the Happy Birthday card on page 29 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.
I first made the card with a pink card base, but when I went to cut for my class, I realized that I was almost completely out of that color (how did that happen!?), so I switched to Barely Banana. Which one do you like better?
I love the Sweet Pea Designer paper on this card. It's such a great value with 48 sheets for only $24.95. Sign up to be a demonstrator on my team by the end of March and I'll give you a Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack as a sign-up bonus gift from me! Click here for details on the Starter Kit special and find out how you can get started!
Supplies: Vintage Vogue, Sincere Salutations, Rose Red ink, Chocolate Chip ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Pretty in Pink or Barely Banana cardstock, Sweet Pea DSP, Scallop Trim Punch (SAB), 1/4" Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Rounder, Paper Crimper

Tropical Melon Flowers
These flowers remind me of a Hawaiian lei and our trip to Hawaii last year. And it makes me think of the Caribbean cruise that we'll be missing this year. (boo!)
My daughter Claire loved these flowers too. When she saw them sitting on my table she told me how pretty they looked and begged me for one. "I want to make a card just like yours" she told me. I told her to get some of her own (construction) paper out and she said, "but it's not the same colors! I don't have that light green and pink!". I love it! She's definitely a future demonstrator in training -- already with an eye for color and quality cardstock!
I have to share another quick story about Claire. I stole a moment away this morning to read my email and from the other room, I heard Claire scream: "Elise has one of your cards! She's destroying your beautiful card! Hurry Mommy!" I went in the other room to find Claire (4-1/2) pinning Elise (17 months) to the couch trying to pry the card from Elise's hands. She's so protective of paper art -- her own and mine!
Ok, back to the card! Here's what I put together with those tropical-looking flowers. I made up about 20 with some scraps I had saved and will swap these cards at our Spring Into Stamping meeting on Saturday...as long as Elise doesn't get her hands on them before then! (wink!)
Supplies: With All My Heart, Melon Mambo ink & cardstock, Gable Green ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Fancy Flower Punch, 5-Petal Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Silver Brads, 1/16" Hold Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals
