Also, I decided to do the Door Prize drawings for each day at the END of the week. That way, if there's not a full 24 hours between my posts, everyone will still have an opportunity to enter the drawings. Check out today's prize at the end of this post!
Ready for the Day 2 project? I was inspired by the layout of a card by Cindee Wilkinson to create this Chalkboard Technique card. This card features two Sale-a-bration products: the Vintage Verses stamp set and Sycamore Street Designer Paper. You can choose either one for free when you order $50 or more during Sale-a-bration. (Learn More.)
This has been a popular technique lately! And it's really very easy! I've seen a few variations, but this one is the easiest! Check out my video tutorial to learn how to do this technique:
Ready for a Door Prize!? Leave me a comment on this post and tell me what your "go to" color is! Is there one that you find you use over and over again, more than any other? For me, lately, it has definitely been Pool Party! I will draw one winner for the Day 2 Door Prize at the end of the week. (Sorry, this drawing is open to U.S. residents only!) Good luck!
Sale-a-Bration: Get a free gift for every $50 order; plus bonus gifts for orders over $150 and $400!
My favorite color that I am drawn to lately that I seem to want to use all the time is is Rich Razzelberry and Raspberry Ripple. I just love the colors of both cardstock.

My "go to" color lately has been an older color- Rich Razzleberry! I just love that color lately!
ReplyDeleteUh, well. I don't do a whole lot of stamping. The last couple times I needed to stamp a sentiment, I just grabbed a navy blue ink (don't know its name) because it was handy to use.
ReplyDeleteSeems like we use Melon Mambo all the time! Also, love pool party & island indigo! Love the chalkboard card! Thanks! Andrea Howell
ReplyDeleteIt's going to sound so boring but my go to color lately has been crumb cake-it's such a nice neutral to make other colors pop- I love crumb cake with calypso coral (which I will miss when it retires). Thanks for the awesome tutorial! I never thought to use the embossing buddy!
ReplyDeleteUsed to be Old Olive, but I've used Rich Razzleberry more lately.
ReplyDeleteI really like Baja Breeze because it compliments lots of other colors.
ReplyDeleteI like Marina Mist, love the shade of blue, really I like all of the Subtles colors! Cute chalkboard card!
ReplyDeleteI think my main go-to color is Soft Suede. I just love the warmth it adds to a card!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

I like Pool Party. Thanks for showing the easy chalk technique
ReplyDeleteI am always using chocolate chip, but lately I have really loved melon mambo. Such a bright fun color, maybe it means I am ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteMy basic go to color is crumb cake and pair it with seasonal colors - now it's more pastels. Almost anything goes with crumb cake.
ReplyDeletePool party has been my fav too.
ReplyDeletePool party has been my fav too.
ReplyDeleteMy latest go to color is Midnight Muse and Gumball Green! Of course those are my newest colors...:)
ReplyDeleteI am using Sahara Sand a lot for sponging.
ReplyDeleteLove how you combined your colors on the chalk board with the new colors and paper and then the retired colors. Both versions are great, as well as the video tutorial. My go to color right now seems to be Island Indigo, will really miss it when it goes away.
ReplyDeleteChalkboard is EVERYHWERE recently!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a fun & easy technique!
Pool Party is also my current "go" color, who knew it can be a Valentine's Day color? And maybe I can work it into St.Patrick's Day as well? : )
Thanks!
Lauren Y.
Pool party and Island Indigo are my go to colors for sure!
ReplyDeleteMine is regal rose with pool party as a close second. I love the chalkboard technique too.
ReplyDeleteMy basic standby is crumb cake. You can dress it up so many ways!

Love the chalkboard card, I have really enjoyed this new trend, too. I have really been drawn to Island Indigo lately (I think is the post-Valentine pink withdrawal that does it!) I also love reaching blindly into the drawer and pulling out an ink pad, and saying "what can I make with this?".
ReplyDeleteThe color that I tend to gravitate towards most often is Regal Rose, which (now that I think about it) surprises me because I'm more into purples. (I miss Lavender Lace SO much!) My least favorite colors are Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze, so I know I need to make something with them soon, lol.
ReplyDeleteNice job with the chalkboard technique tutorial! I see this being done everywhere, so I'm sure I'll cave and give it a whirl myself one of these days.
I have been useing Rich Razzleberry. But I guess it depends on what kind of card I'm doing. I use alot of my colors depends on what holiday or what I want to make. I love all your work Julie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card and awesome chalk board technique. Thanks for the idea and the video tutorial. I love how you embossing buddy over the cardstock to achieve the chalky effect.
ReplyDeleteMy current go to color is Lucky Limeaide. It pairs well with so many different colors.
My "go to" color is Baja Breeze -- I have to actually force myself to pull out another color because I use it so often.
ReplyDeleteLove this tutorial. You've made this technique look so easy. I am ready to give it a try now.
ReplyDeleteI am still drawn to crumb cake but that doesn't feel like a color!
My go to color would be very vanilla and chocolate chip.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use the embossing buddy for the smudging. Much easier than using a sponge and craft ink. My favorite color is Cherry Cobbler. I love red and this is such a rich hue.
ReplyDeleteMy go to color right now is cherry cobbler. Normall, I am a subtles ad brights kinda girl, but I just love the richness of the cherry cobbler!
