Last month, I went to the local craft store to buy some frames to make another project and came across a small bird cage in the $1 aisle. I took some time earlier this week to "stamp just to
stamp" (which doesn't happen often enough for me!) and I dressed up the
bird cage. What do you think!?
I stamped images from
Papillon Potpourri in Basic Gray on Pink Pirouette and Primrose Petals cardstock, then punched them out with the coordinating
Elegant Butterfly and
Bitty Butterfly punches. (The latter is brand new in the Spring Catalog!!) I used
Dazzling Details Glitter Glue to add sparkle to each butterfly. When they were dry, I sandwiched two punch outs back to back with a piece of Linen Thread between them. I attached the Linen Thread to the top of the bird cage with a Mini Glue Dot. The
Flower Trim (colored with Primrose Petals marker -
see "how to" here) is also attached with glue dots and covers up most of the Linen Thread. I used six flowers and cut them apart in 1 or 2 flower segments to get them to lay nicely. The
Two-Toned Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!

I love it! I dressed up a cage similar to this to use as a card holder for my wedding. You have inspired me to get it out of storage and dress it up to be a Spring decoration!
