I've sat down at least four times to write this post, but haven't gotten very far before I'm called back for snuggles or a temp check. I am praying the worst is over and even more that the rest of us don't get whatever bug she has!!
This was the 9th year that we have held Spring into Stamping. We are a pretty well-oiled machine by now and have taken all the feedback and learned from our past mistakes that I truly think this was the best year yet! I heard one person say they took more notes at Spring Into Stamping than they did at Convention last year! WOW!!
Our day was truly full! We started with our keynote speaker, Lisa Fast. Lisa is Stampin' Up's second Million Dollar Sales achiever and having moved several times during her career as a demonstrator, she had a lot of great tips and ideas to share about starting -- and restarting -- the business!
After Lisa's presentation, we had our first breakout session to work on make and takes and watch demonstration booths. I think there were 5 or 6 booths each in the morning and afternoon. They were all amazing and inspiring! Here were a few of my favorite ones.
Before lunch, we had a panel discussion on selling finished products. Four demonstrators shared their experience selling their hand-stamped work at bridal fairs, craft fairs, and gift shops. It was refreshing to hear how other demonstrators are trying different things with their business!
At lunch, we surprised our upline and team leader, Kim Peck, with special birthday wishes. She moved to California a year ago and we were thrilled to have her back in Illinois to join us for Spring Into Stamping. Not only did she inspire us with fabulous watercoloring projects, she also sponsored an all-attendee giveaway and door prizes for the entire event! Thank you Kim, for your generosity!!
After lunch, Meg hosted the Stamping Olympics with events including Speed Stamping, Stamp Stacking, Curling, and Biathalon. Two people from each table "qualified" (by volunteering) to participate in each event. It was so much fun to cheer them on and watch as each team was awarded either gold (such as sequins or foil cardstock), silver, or bronze.
Also, in the afternoon, my mom, Susan La Croix, did an on stage demonstration showing different ways to use the Crepe Filter Paper to make flowers and the Faux Silk technique.
We had our afternoon Demonstration Fair and Make & Take session and we capped off the day with a three presentations about using social media in your business. Meg discussed Facebook. Mary Ellen talked about Pinterest, and I covered blogging.
Spring into Stamping is truly a group effort and I want to thank everyone who participated --especially those who helped with demonstrations, make and takes, and the panel-- for making this year one of the best yet!!
