Control Freaks Blog Tour: Freaky Friends & Motley Monsters

Greetings from Utah! I'm far away from home this month hanging out with the other Top 100 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators of the Year at the Founder's Circle Retreat, but I couldn't resist participating in this month's Control Freaks Blog Tour so I could share some fun Halloween projects with you.

Whether you came from Judy DiScipio's blog or you are just joining the fun, you're in for a treat! Make sure to hop all the way through the tour to check out what we've created. This month's theme is "Boo to You".

For my projects, I used the brand new Freaky Friends stamp set and Motley Monsters Designer Paper from the Holiday Catalog. I wasn't going to get this stamp set, but the little goblins are just too cute! I couldn't resist and it arrived on my doorstep a week before I left.

My first card is a fun "Flap Fold Card". It's a fun fold card that is so much easier than it looks!

Here's how to make the Flap Fold Card:
  • Start with a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock and score at 4-1/4" and 8 5/8".
  • Punch a 2-1/2" Circle in the center of the second score line (put it as far in as it will go).
  • Then decorate! The Designer Paper is 4" x 4". And I used the 2" Circle Punch and 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch for the owl and bird.
  • The flap tucks into a Banner Punch. Make sure to put the dimensional only on the bottom part of the banner so you can tuck the flap under.
Check out my VIDEO TUTORIAL for the Flap Fold Card here.

I used the Old Olive Blendabilities to color Frankenstein on this clean and simple card. I love the graphic look to the Chevron punch on the sides!

Lastly, I decorated these "Milk Bottles" (from the "Dollar Spot"!) using the Motley Monsters Designer Paper and more of the Freaky Friends goblins. I love the Motley Monsters Designer Paper more than I thought I would. There are many non Halloween designs that are versatile enough to use any time of year!
