I have heard from many of you that the Occasions Catalog is starting to arrive in the mail. If you are a customer of mine who has ordered in the last year or two, you should receive a copy in the mail! The Sale-a-bration brochure should be coming soon too! If you are not already working with another demonstrator would like to receive copies of the catalog, please contact me!
The first card I am sharing tonight is the one I designed for our team Christmas party last week. All of the make and takes were using new products. The stamp set I used is called Crazy about You and is probably known more for all the words that come in the set rather than the images. There are 33 stamps in this stamp set (on page 31 on the Occasions Catalog) and only three are not words!
The larger flower, stamped in Calypso Coral, coordinates with the new Flower Medallion Punch. I didn't think I needed a new flower stamp and punch combo, but I sure do love this one! The other flower in this set is a scallop flower, but I punched it out with the Petite Petal Punch to create a smaller center for the larger flower.
Stampin' Supplies: Crazy About You stamp set, Calypso Coral ink, So Saffron ink, Pear Pizzazz ink & cardstock, Soft Suede ink, Whisper White cardstock, Best Year Ever Designer Paper, Flower Medallion Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Rhinestone Jewel Accents, Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (Ribbon)
For the next card, I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set and coordinating Butterflies Thinlits (found on page 26 of the Occasions Catalog). I was so happy to see that the Butterflies Thinlits cut so well! Here are some tips to make these delicate designs pop right out:
For the next card, I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set and coordinating Butterflies Thinlits (found on page 26 of the Occasions Catalog). I was so happy to see that the Butterflies Thinlits cut so well! Here are some tips to make these delicate designs pop right out:
- Place the Thinlit on the magnetic platform with the cutting edge up and place the cardstock over it.
- Use a layer of wax paper between the cardstock and the thinlit.
- Crank it through the Big Shot twice: once and then back again.

The last card I kept clean and simple. I added black cardstock behind the butterfly die cut to make it pop, but I think I might like it better without it. After I glued it on the black cardstock and hand cutting around it, I wasn't about to take it off!

I really love the Butterflies Thinlits! If you look at the Thinlits (at
the top of page 26), you'll notice that I actually cut the bottom pieces
off of the die cut so that I could accommodate a greeting across the
bottom of the card front.

All three cards are beautiful Julie. Love all the color combo's and the CAS for the third!
ReplyDeleteI really like your projects. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm glad you didn't (couldn't?) remove the black from behind the butterfly in the third card; it shows one more way of using this fabulous new die.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. This is a "must have" thinlit! Think I would do a brighter color vs the black. TFS!
ReplyDeleteI love your butterfly card Julie. I know you aren't a fan of the black but I really like it!
