The Spring Into Stamping Event Planning Committee:
Kim Peck, Mary Ellen Stites, Meg Loven, and me
It was my job to coordinate the make and takes again this year. I designed six projects. (I'll reveal them soon!) Preparing six projects for 92 people is no small task! I have to give a shout out to all my make and take helpers and those who helped me with all the prep work. I couldn't have done it all by myself! Thank you so much for your help! Here are a few photos from the day.
After lunch, we usually do a fun game show. This year, Chaya Sandler hosted Jeopardy. So fun! Afterwards, we broke into our afternoon session. Half of the room worked on make and takes while the other half checked out the Demonstrator Fair. We had six new demonstration in the morning and six different ones in the afternoon.
Mary McCormick demonstrator paper piecing techniques.
I loved this card on Tammie Rundle's display. Tammie demonstrated different watercolor techniques. For this card, she stamped a line image several times across the watercolor paper and then blended it with a an Aqua Painter. Check out Tammie's blog for more of her beautiful projects.Glenda Travelstead shared her beautiful Monthly Samplers. Glenda offers this class each month with a new themed sampler. The 12x12 sampler fits into a frame, or you can use the individual pieces on cards or scrapbook pages. If you're in Northern Illinois, be sure to connect with Glenda on her Facebook page here to attend her local classes.
I loved this tip that Glenda shared. She created templates out of the cardboard that comes with the designer paper to help her line up the squares. She said she starts with the corners and works in.
