2 Birthday Cards for Pocket Sketch Challenge #4

http://juliedavison.blogspot.com/2016/01/pocket-sketch-challenge-4-rose-garden.htmlToday is the last day to participate in my Pocket Sketch Challenge #4! Make sure to post your card by tonight for your chance to win the Pocket Full of Sketches #2 book. Someone asked me why it's called Pocket Sketch Challenge. The book is a pocket-sized swatchbook. So it's literally a Pocket Full of Sketches! But also, in the figurative sense: when you feel stuck and need an idea, you can pull these layouts "out of your back pocket" to help make card-making easy.
Click here to learn more about this week's challenge. I'll be posting the Pocket Full of Sketches books for sale on Friday, January 15 at 8:00 am CT. I only have a limited number and I am certain that I will sell out, so be sure to visit early.

Here are two more cards that I created with this week's layout. These are the two that are featured in the book.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Sassy Salutations, Watermelon Wonder ink & cardstock, Cucumber Crush cardstock, Pool Party cardstock, Cherry on Top Designer Paper Stack, Whisper White cardstock, Heart Punch, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Metal Rimmed Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals

Did you notice the starburst shape? I used the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch to create it! Here's how:

  1. Punch a Scallop Circle.
  2. Use removable adhesive or just a small bit of adhesive to adhere the scallop circle punch to a piece of scrap paper. (Or use a sticky note!)
  3. Line up the scallops so the point falls in the middle of each scallop.
  4. Punch again and remove from scrap paper.
