Occasions Catalog Farewell Global Blog Hop: Part 2: Birthday Fishes Diorama Card

We are featuring more projects using the retiring stamp sets from the 2016 Occasions Catalog, which is coming to an end in just a few weeks on on May 31. Make sure to get your favorite goodies before they're gone!

I picked the Friends & Flowers stamp set to create this fun diorama card. This stamp set coordinates with the Festive Flower punch and has some many creative possibilities!

 The diorama has layers and depth that make it extra special. It's a card that you'll want to display!

Be sure to check back this weekend; I'll be posting a video tutorial to show you how to make a diorama card like this. It's so easy! Here's what you'll need:

• Two pieces of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" cardstock (I used Whisper White and Pool Party).
• Score both pieces at 1/2", 1", 4-1/2", and 5".
• Fold on the score lines and make sure to use strong adhesive when you adhere the ends together.

I used a couple small pieces of window sheet attached between the ends of the cardstock to add another layer of seaweed. And you can't see it well, but I added some Gold Wink of Stella to the seaweed and Clear Wink of Stella to the fish. I love the extra sparkle.

To create the greeting, I used the retiring 2014-2016 In Color Markers (Tangelo Twist & Mossy Meadow) to color directly on the stamp. I omitted the "w" in "wishes" and stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then I used the marker to write an "f" in front of "ishes". (I know it's not proper English, but I thought it was cute!)

And guess what? The Diorama Card will fold flat to fit into a standard size Medium Envelope.
