Control Freaks Blog Tour: 3 Fall Projects

Whether you are coming from the creative and talented Cindy Elam's blog or just joining us -- welcome to the October 2018 Control Freaks Blog Tour! Our theme this month is Fall! It's one of my favorite seasons! I love the cooler weather and the gorgeous colors of the changing leaves.

Today, I have three projects to share with you today. The first one uses the new Winter Woods stamp set from the Holiday Catalog. I made this card for a challenge that my upline had last month -- to create a card using Brusho. It's been a few months since Brusho debuted and I have to say that I've kind of forgotten about it. But a Brusho Background is perfect for fall! I spritzed water on a piece of watercolor paper and then sprinkled on the Brusho. To help the color spread, I spritzed more water. Allow it to dry thoroughly before you stamp the trees. I suggest using Staz-On ink so that there is no chance of the ink running. If you prefer a bolder image, try heat embossing!

I didn't purchase any of the fall-themed stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog, but I do have the Warm Hearted host stamp set and that's where this "Thanks" comes from. I like this set because it includes sentiments for multiples occasions. You can pick it out with host rewards when you order $150 or host a qualifying party. I used one of my favorite punches, the leaf punch, to accent the stamped sentiment and tie in the leaves from the designer paper.

For my last project, I used the gorgeous new Joyous Noel designer paper. Even though this designer paper is intended to be for Christmas, the colors also work so perfectly for autumn! I decorated this Copper Tin (for the annual catalog) with a 2" x 12" strip of designer paper and used Tear & Tape to stick it back on to itself. I put the seam in the front so I could cover it up with the embellishment. Have you gotten the new Sprig Punch yet? It's so perfect in Copper Foil cardstock. Although the punch is currently on backorder, it should be in stock and start shipping next week. (Note: The Joyous Noel Designer Paper is also backordered and will not ship until around November 5.)
