Stampin' Creative Blog Hop: Perfectly Plaid Card &Treat Box

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently you are visiting Julie Davison from Champaign, Illinois in the United States. I am so honored to join this group of talented demonstrators from around the world to share fresh ideas with you each month!  This month, we are sharing festive treat projects. Since I mostly mark cards, sometimes I find it challenging to come up with 3-D projects, so I can't wait to see what my friends have created!
I created a pair of coordinating projects for you! I love the Perfectly Plaid bundle in the Holiday Catalog. The stamp set coordinates with the Pine Tree Punch and combined with the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper -- it makes crafting for Christmas so easy!

The Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper comes in a 6" x 6" stack. These cozy patterns come in the traditional Christmas red and green and also include navy and gold, so they work well with many different stamps, not just the Perfectly Plaid trees! This layout is clean and simple and lets the trees stand out!

I used similar elements on the treat box: the designer paper, Gold Foil circle, and stamped tree. I stamped the outline image in Navy ink and filled it in with Shaded Spruce. This little box is made with a half sheet of cardstock -- that's 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" in the United States. (Side Note from my readers around the world: the new Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer has both imperial and metric measurements so you don't need to convert!)

Here is the template for the box. Be sure to check back tomorrow for my video tutorial and another Half Sheet Treat Box using brand new products!

Instructions for Half Sheet Treat Box:
  • Start with a piece of cardstock that measures 8-1/2" x 5-1/2".
  • Score at 1-1/2", 4", 5-1/2", and 8".
  • Turn 90 degrees and score at 1-1/2".
  • Cut on the score lines up to the 1-1/2" score line. Completely remove the tab at the end.
  • Fold on all the score lines. Use Tear & Tape to adhere the box together.
That's all from me today! Thank you for visiting! Be sure to come back for that video tutorial tomorrow more Stampin' Up! projects! For now, it's time to carry on with the blog hop and see what other amazing projects my Stampin' friends from around the world have created for you!
