Butterfly Bouquet Blog Hop: Masked Butterfly Card

First Time Visiting? Hello, Hello! I'm Julie Davison! I live in Central Illinois in the United States and have been a demonstrator for almost 19 years! My stamping style is clean and simple and the card I'm sharing today is definitely a "Julie Card"!

Although the layout is clean and simple, I used the masking technique to add color and depth to the stamped butterflies. 

Step 1: To create the fun background, first stamp the butterflies. I used a 3-1/2" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White Cardstock and Calypso Coral ink. The Stamparatus makes it easy to stamp large images like this one.

Step 2: Line up a die cut mask over the stamped image. (Secure with adhesive or washi tape to prevent slipping.) Use a Stampin' Sponge, Sponge Dauber, or Blending Brush to  add color through the mask.

I used the same color ink (Calypso Coral) to stamp and blend for this this monochromatic card, but you can play around with different color combinations!
