Stampin' Up! Masterfully Made Card + Technique Video

When I first started as a demonstrator over 20 years ago, the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog was called the "Idea Book & Catalog". Even though the name has changed, the catalog is still an "idea book" that includes hundreds of project ideas featuring at least one sample for every stamp set. These projects are intended to inspire stampers around the world and I often look to these ideas. Sometimes I copy cards exactly as they are pictured, but often, I take the layout, color combination, or technique and make it my own. It's called CASEing -- Copy And Selectively Editing. Here is my version of a project from the 2023-2024 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

TECHNIQUE TIP: White-Center Specialty Paper

Normally, when you tear Stampin' Up! cardstock, you will see the same color because Stampin' Up! cardstock is dyed. That's the difference between the regular cardstock and the new White Center Specialty Paper (161748) -- the color on the sepcialty paper is printed on the paper. So when you tear the White Center Specialty Paper, you'll see -- you guessed it -- WHITE!

This paper coordinates with the Masterfully Made Designer Paper (161192), which features torn cardstock and designer -- and lots of white edges!

Try this technique! Emboss the White Center Specialty Paper with your favorite embossing folder and then use sand paper to gently sand the printed color and reveal the white paper.
