3 Alternative Christmas Projects for November 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit + Video

I liked the November 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit from the moment I first peeked inside my red box, but I enjoyed playing with it even more than I expected! Mom and I got in a little crafting time while I was visiting my family in Michigan over the holiday. Here are the projects I created with the Mistletoe &  Holly kit. I have lots of pieces leftover, so I plan to break it out and create even more this week!

 

I die cut the card base with the Fry Box die (#132966). It was a perfect fit! No one will notice the extra score line on the bottom of the box. I wanted to add some color to the inside of the box, so I cut apart the envelope included in the kit and die cut it with the Fry Box die to fit inside the box.

The best way to get more bang for your buck with card kits is to cut apart the card and use the front and the back for two different cards! I added a 1" x 4-1/4" piece of Cherry Cobbler striped paper cut from the envelope!

Instructions for the Jolly Wishes Treat Bag:

1. Cut a treat bag from Whisper White cardstock using the Big Shot and Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies. 
2. Stamp the dots image in Mint Macaron ink on the front of the treat bag. Assemble the treat bag.
3. Cut a 9" x 3" belly band from Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum, wrap it around the treat bag, and adhere the ends together. 
4. Stamp the snowflake image in Mint Macaron ink on Mint Macaron cardstock. Punch out the image using the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.
5. Cut at least four “Jolly” words from Whisper White cardstock. Adhere and stack the words on top of each other before adhering to the snowflake circle. 
6. Stamp “Wishes” in Real Red ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Cut out the word and adhere it to the snowflake circle. 
7. Cut 6 -1/2" of Gold 3/8" Glitter Ribbon. Fold and adhere to the back of the snowflake circle.
8. Attach the snowflake circle to the front of the treat bag using a Mini Metallic Clothespin.
9. Fill a 4" x 6" Cellophane Bag with treats. Close the bag with Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine and put it in the treat bag.

Quick VIDEO Tip: How to Make Plaid Present Birthday Card

Here's one of the cards that I designed using the Your Presents stamp set for my November Stamp of the Month Club card kit. The stamp set includes a stripes image and I used it to create a plaid!

Check out my quick video tip. Essentially, all you do is stamp the stripes, turn the cardstock, and stamp them again. Here's an example with Real Red and Garden Green. You can do any color combination to create a card for any occasion.
