What are the minimum sales requirements?

The requirement to stay active as a demonstrator is $300 per calendar quarter.
  • The company average for a home party (aka "workshop") is $300, so you can meet the sales requirement by doing just one party per quarter – or by placing orders for yourself and your friends.
  • Your own purchases (including your Paper Pumpkin subscription) count toward your quota.
  • You can submit your sales in any increment you wish and still receive your 20% discount and commission.
When you first start, you have some extra time to meet your first quota. For example, if you sign up in the middle of the October-December quarter, that quarterly sales requirement is waived  and you have until your first FULL quarter (Jan-Mar in this example) to meet your first $300 quota. And EVERYTHING between your sign up date until the end of the first full quarter counts toward that first sales quota.


How much does it cost to get started as a demonstrator?

The Starter Kit is only $99 + tax. Shipping is free!

The Starter Kit is fully customizable. You choose up to $125 worth of any current Stampin’ Up! products, and you will also receive a business supplies pack containing materials you need to run your business (valued at $50) such as catalogs and order forms. How can I make money as a demonstrator?

Your commission is based on how much you sell (or purchase for yourself).
  • You automatically get 20% off of every order you place—instantly! 
    • When you advance to Bronze Elite, you'll get a raise and get an extra 5% instant income!
  • You also earn a monthly volume rebate based (ranging 4-13%) on your total sales each month every month. See Compensation Plan.
  • Qualify for cash bonuses, product bonuses, incentive trips and other awards.
  • Recruit and receive downline overrides based on your recruits' sales.


Do I have to recruit other demonstrators?

No, it is not required to recruit. However, one of the perks of recruiting other demonstrators is that can earn 3-6.5% commissions on your team’s sales!

How can I earn my Starter Kit for FREE?

There are TWO ways to get your Starter Kit for FREE or at a discount.
  1. Host a party and use your Stampin' Rewards toward your Starter Kit!

    Under the current host plan, you can earn your Starter Kit for FREE when you host a party that reaches $625 in party sales! Didn't quite meet your goal? You can use ANY amount of Stampin' Rewards to discount your Starter Kit!
  2. Kick off your business by holding a party or two within the first 30 days, and you could earn back the money for your kit before your credit card bill is due!

In my eighteen years as a demonstrator, I've found that new demonstrators who host their own workshop within 30 days of joining find the most fulfillment in this experience.
  • An average party is $300.
    • $300 x 20% = $60
    • $400 x 20% = $80
    • $500 x 20% = $100
    • $600 x 20% = $120 + 4% volume rebate ($24) = $144

 

What if I want to do this as a hobby and not a business?

Stampin’ Up! supports all demonstrators, no matter their goals or the level at which they choose to run their business. If you choose not to hold workshops, you can simply place your own orders and/or collect orders from family and friends to equal the $300 quarterly sales minimum.


Can I be my own hostess?

Yes, you can be your own hostess anytime you want. Invite your family and friends into your home and have a party. You will be the hostess, receiving the hostess benefits, as well as the demonstrator, receiving your instant income and commission.

Do I have to hold parties and classes?

Holding events is one of the best ways to find new customers, however, there is no requirement to hold parties or place orders. A large majority of my team are "hobbyists" and enjoy crafting with a small group of friends and family.  


Where will I get project ideas for my parties and classess? What kind of training can I expect?

You will get as much or as little training as you’d like.
  • Stampin’ Up! provides audio and video training resources with tips to help you run every aspect of your business, including 
    • training videos and webinars in Stampin' University
    • "Demonstrator Planning Place" Facebook Group
    • annual and seasonal catalogs
    • the Demonstrator Manual

  • Monthly Virtual Meetings on our team Ju-bilant Stampers Team Facebook Group, which are uploaded to YouTube and shared in our monthly team email newsletter,
  • Monthly in-person team meetings in Champaign, Illinois. These meetings are just like “workshops” for demonstrators. We have demonstrations, make and takes, and learn and share new ideas to grow our business. Plus you can participate in card swaps with other demonstrators. 
  • Video Archive: We tape our monthly meetings in Champaign so that teammates across the country can watch at home.
  • I am available for one-on-one training to provide coaching, direction, or help as needed. I am always just a phone call or email away!

Flex Reward points can be earned throughout the year for personal sales, title advancements, and anniversaries and can be redeemed for product, event registration, logo items, and a dream vacation!

What happens if I don't meet the quarterly minimum?

If you don't make your quota, Stampin' Up! gives you one month to make up the difference. In that time, you are considered in "pending" status. If you make up your missing sales, then you are "active" again. If however, you don't make up the missing sales during your pending period, then you are "dropped" as a demonstrator and will no longer have access to the Demonstrator Website and placing orders at a discount.


Are there any penalties for dropping out?

Nope! If you decide being a demonstrator is not for you, simply do nothing. You will automatically go inactive when you no longer meet the minimum requirements. In the meantime, you can still enjoy all of the benefits described above!
