Bookcase Builder Thank You Friend Card

Saturday morning I got up bright and early...earlier than I wanted or needed to! And since we didn't have much going on, I decided to spend a little time stamping. I don't often get to stamp "just because" since I am usually designing for a class or making up samples with new products, so I browsed a few challenge sites and found inspiration with the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge and Global Design Project. This week's theme for Global Design Project is "CASE the Designer". I love Janneke de Jong's clean and simple style. I took the main design element from her inspiration card and used it on my horizontal card.

Sunflower Punch Art Birthday Card

I'm on a roll with challenges!! Are you playing along with me? Here's my first card for the Sept 15 Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. The theme this week is Sunflower Surprise! I actually made TWO cards. I started this one first, but wasn't sure how to finish it, so I abandoned it and made another card. Then I came back and finished it. I love the bright graphic colors of sunflowers and I think this card captures that perfectly!

To give the flowers dimensional, I cut the petals and layered the flowers on top of each other with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also used the Core'dination cardstock for the leaves and sanded the top.

After taking photos of my cards, I decided I want to tweak the other one, so watch for it to post tomorrow!

Back to School Inspired Owl Punch Art

I miss nap time! For the most part, my kiddos have outgrown naps and I really do miss that quiet time in the afternoon! That used to be my stamping time and I especially enjoyed participating in several challenges. Hopefully now that my littlest ones are both in pre-school, I will have more opportunities to stamp just for the fun of it!

I managed to find some quiet time today and made up this card for the Back to School Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.

 

The only school-themed stamp in my collection came from the It's a Wrap Occasions stamp set. (It's the A+ apple stamp in the banner). I remembered seeing several version of the teacher owl when the Owl Punch first came out a few years ago, so I created my own version. The only "extras" I added to the Owl Punch pieces were the wings (a 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch cut in half) and two small pieces for the sides of the glasses. Oh, and the chalk (hand cut from a scrap of white cardstock).

Carnival Inspired Thank You Card

I haven't had much time for "surfing" lately, but last night, I was browsing Pinterest and Facebook and my favorite blogs and realized that I've been missing out on the Curtain Call Challenges. I was so excited when they started back by last month, but haven't had any extra time to sit down and make a card.

I got up early with the kiddos this morning and thought this might be my chance! Here is the card I made for the August 15 Curtain Call Challenge: Carnival Craze.

Just one minor hiccup -- I missed the deadline to post for the challenge! By just an hour! Bummer!! I am looking forward to the next challenge and hopefully I won't be tardy for the party again!
