Honestly, I probably wouldn't have given this bundle a second look in the Occasions Catalog. Even though the new addition to the Distinkive stamp line looks so realistic, needlepoint just isn't my thing. But when we made this card at On Stage. The flower stitching is all one die and I absolutely love how easy it was to make this pretty background. So, of course, I ordered it! How could I not!?! I am not a fan of white card bases and felt like this card needed some more color, so I changed the Whisper White and Blushing Bride to Berry Burst and Crushed Curry for my stamp club last week. Which color combination do you prefer? This or That? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Do you ever get "stuck" when you make a card and you're just not sure how to finish it? A few months ago, I asked my team to send me cards that they weren't sure how to finish. Barb Hopper Preiss sent me a birthday card that she created featuring the Birthday Memories Designer Paper. It's been sitting on my desk and I was inspired to get it out and give it a little card makeover. I shared a Facebook Live demonstration to talk about the changes I made. Click here to see more card makeovers.

Here's a close-up of just my card. Make sure to get this fun paper before it retires! You'll want the framelits that coordinate so you can quickly and easily cut out the images (like the cake) from the designer paper.

Did you see the new Sale-a-Bration gift options? Stampin' Up! added new products to this year's sale-a-Bration offering -- including the Color Me Happy Card Kit (a $25 value)! This card kit was designed to coordinate with the Color Me Happy stamp set that was released with the Stampin' Blends last fall. But you can make up this card kit with any stamp set. I used Sale-a-Bration stamp sets to make up the rest of the two kits I had left.
Check out this recording of my Facebook Live demonstration from Saturday. I'll show you the Color Me Happy Card Kit pieces and the stamp sets that I used to make the cards. Then, you'll get to see me stamp and make the Party Panda birthday card above (my favorite of the bunch)! Follow my Facebook Page to catch more Live videos! (Note: The giveaway mentioned in this video is now over.)

I was so excited to get my Paper Pumpkin kit a little early this month! And even more excited when I opened up the box and saw this beautiful autumn-themed card kit. I could hardly wait and get busy making up alternative projects with this month's kit!
I love the challenge of creating other projects with the supplies in my
Paper Pumpkin box, but the original project designs are cute too! This
kit included material to create eight shaker cards! Check out this video to see
the original designs from the October 2016 Season of Gratitude Kit:
The first idea that I has was to use the die cut leaves leftover from the card front to create mini cards. I started by cutting the Crumb cake card in half, making the finished size of these cards 2-3/4" x 4-1/4". To add a pop of color, I cut squares from the included envelopes to layer on to each other.
Or use the box to give a small gift or candy. The scalloped edge was created with an edgelit from the Popcorn Box Thinlit Dies, but everything else (excluding the Gusseted Cellophane Bag) came from the Paper Pumpkin kit!
You can create your own envelopes for thee mini cards with the Envelope Punch Board, but they are too small to mail on their own. Here's another version of the cards using the Crumb Cake Notecards & Envelopes. I love how clean and simple these cards are!
Ready to step it up a bit? Here are two cards I created with the October kit and a little extra cardstock (Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla). For the first card, I cut apart the original shaker card front into a smaller frame. (I used another piece of that cut apart card front for the box!)
Here's a close-up that better shows the detail of the leaf. I cut apart a square of patterned paper from the envelope and applied adhesive to the middle. Then I added the small sequins and pressed down to secure them to the adhesive. (The Multipurpose Liquid Glue would be best for this!) When the adhesive is dry, add the frame over the sequined paper. Note: I cut the banner in half to stick out from either side.
For my last project, I used the die cut frame piece from the kit on a Chocolate Chip card and layered the tags and twine for the greeting. I have so many pieces leftover, I can't wait to keep playing with this Paper Pumpkin Kit.
