Today I am sharing projects by Linda Yearsley. Linda demonstrated Shaker Cards at our Spring Into Stamping event. She was so creative in her use of media and shaker shapes! Here are a few of my favorite cards. Linda doesn't have a Facebook page or blog, so be sure to leave her a comment here on my blog and tell her how awesome her cards are!
Linda says: "The term “shaker card” refers to any card with viewable depth with objects inside that are free to move around. As a visual, imagine a snow globe without water. What makes a shaker card unique? By adding depth to a card, you can create an open space for small pieces of media to move and create attention and reflect light, bringing interest and excitement to your card and its meaning or message."
- Use one layer of cardstock to form your card. Use another layer of cardstock for the top, decide your method of cutout and execute.
- Using multipurpose glue, adhere the window sheet to the back of your cutout.
- Line the area around the window sheet with shaker foam, making sure that it does not show through the cutout area.
- Using your internal media, and keeping it inside the cutout area, place the media on the card base then cover with the foam backed top layer.
