Weekend Color Challenge: Pop of Petals

This weekend, I am attending our annual demonstrator stamping retreat. We each bring our own projects to work on.  I have been spending the day making up extra card packets from kits since our retreat last fall. I've already made up over 60 cards!

I thought it would be fun to host a couple challenges this weekend with my stamping friends. The first challenge is to make a project using at least three of these four colors: Here are the colors for this challenge: Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, So Saffron, and Basic Gray. Here's the card that I created for the challenge.

I used the Pop of Petals bundle! I love the variety of flowers and leaves in this set, but my favorite thing is that it has a coordinating punch! I am a sucker for coordinating punches! This bundle is a must-have from the Annual Catalog!
Want to play along? Post your card by Noon on Sunday in my Share & Connect Facebook Group for a chance to win a stamping prize! Here are the colors for this challenge: Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, So Saffron, and Basic Gray. I will be sharing the cards that my stamping friends make, so even if you don't make a card, be sure to check the group for more inspiration!

This or That? Painted Glass Butterfly Cards

When I am designing a card, I often second guess myself and get hung up on small details. Sometimes I snap a photo of the card two different ways and post to my team for their input. Here's what I shared with them earlier this week while I was working on a card featuring the Painted Glass suite from the annual catalog. Sometimes I make up my mind after just taking the photos. That was the case for this card. I won't tell you which one I liked best (although it's probably the one you'll pick too)! Leave me a comment and let me know which you prefer: this or that? One butterfly or three?

First Frost: Frosted Floral Panel Card

I love to play with card layouts. They are great jumping off point as I am designing a card. This card that I designed with the First Frost stamp set was inspired by a layout I found on Pinterest. I love this skinny panel of designer paper and the label that bridges the two sections. I felt like the card needed something and I played around either different elements before I settled on adding twine behind the label. Leave a comment and let me know what you think of this card and layout! Is it one that you would try?

Stamp of the Month Club: First Frost Congratulations Card

You would not believe me if I told you how long I spend designing card kits. It takes me HOURS -- sometimes over several days! I am meticulous about using a small set of ink colors to minimize the products that you'll need to do the projects at home. Then I keep coming back and tweak the design until it's just right.

That is one of the perks of being part of my Stamp of the Month Club -- you don't have to struggle for hours to get the design just right. Everything will come pre-cut and ready for you to sit down and create right away. The printed instruction sheets and photos will guide you and you'll have all the measurements you need to recreate the projects later on.

I took a few months off from Stamp of the Month Club because it was a busy summer and I just didn't get the extra hours to labor over designing a cohesive collection of cards. I'm back now and ready to jump right into the amazing Holiday Catalog! The stamp set I am featuring in September is First Frost.  This set includes beautiful watercolor florals and sentiments that you'll reach for all year long.

The first card in this month's kit was inspired by a card I saw displayed on Alaska incentive trip in July. It uses two pieces of the Frosted Floral Designer paper. Photos do not do this paper justice. It has a pretty frosted shimmer to the entire sheet. You'll love it!
