Easter Egg Chick Card & Peekaboo Puppet

Happy Easter! I hope you are having an amazing weekend filled with love and creativity! We are enjoying a visit with my family. Earlier in the week, we did an egg hunt and some Easter crafts at our girl scout meeting. I saw a similar idea to this chick clothespin on line and had to make it my own way! 

I used the Balloon Bouquet punch to make the egg and chick inside! Check out this cuteness!!

Yappy Birthday Home Sweet Home Bendy Card

Have you tried the Bendy Card yet? I love the depth and dimension of this card -- and the fact that it stands on it's own! This is a card your friends and family will want to display for a long time! You may have seen the Bendy Cards I posted last month and the video tutorial. Here's one more card that I showed at the end of the video.

 

What makes this Bendy Card a little different from the others that I made is that I used scissors to hand cut the flaps to make hills instead of leaving them rectangular. I think it adds to the depth and dimension of the card. This would be so cute with snowmen or flowers too! I cut another piece of Wild Wasabi to create a hill for the inside of the card.

I used the Fox Builder Punch to create the dog and teddy bear face from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set. The clouds are from the Umbrella Weather framelit set and everything else comes from the Home Sweet Home bundle.

It may look complicated, but it's not! Watch my video tutorial to learn how to make this card and then you'll be making Bendy Cards for every occasion too!

Whooo's Amazing? Owl Top Note Treat Bags

Last week, the volunteer coordinator at my kids' school contacted me about borrowing some hole punches. She wanted to make treat bags for all the volunteers and thought I might have a punch she could use. Do I have a punch she could use!? LOL Um, YES! She sent me the link to an adorable treat bag she was trying to re-create and of course I had everything she needed except for the candy! I pre-cut the Top Notes for her and showed her how to use the punches and adhesive to put it all together.

I was so excited to get an email from her mid-project saying that she was having so much fun! And when she returned the punches, she asked to buy a SNAIL adhesive because she loved it so much! One of my favorite parts of this "job" as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is helping people find the crafty side of their personality. Now that Jaime knows how easy it is to make up little treats like this, I think she'll be excited to take on the next project like this!

VIDEO: Bird House Punch Art Diorama Card Tutorial

I had the pleasure of attending a demonstrator gathering in Peoria last weekend. Many thanks to the Stray Ducklings for their warm hospitality!! Lori Helvick shared almost 50 ideas for layering punches in her demonstration at the meeting. And one of those ideas was to use the What's Up Punch to create a birdhouse! Brilliant! I went home and literally sat down the next day to create this diorama card featuring the bird house punch art.

Stampin' Up! Hardwood Fence Card

If you weren't sure about whether or not you NEED the Hardwood background stamp or not, let me help you decide! I absolutely love the way this card turned out and it's so simple! I just stamped the Hardwood background stamp (I used Soft Suede ink on Baked Brown Sugar cardstock) and then I used the Triangle Punch to notch out the top (and sides) to make it look like a fence. I stamped on a second piece of cardstock and cut out two planks to add across the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I wish I could say I thought of it myself, but I spied this card on Kevin Theesen's Facebook page after Convention and was inspired to make my own fence card!

Guest Blogger: My Kids & Jumbo Tri-Animals

"Tri-Animals are so cool and really fun to make!"

My kids took over my stamp room last week before I left and create an entire zoo of triangle box critters! These are much larger than the ones they made last year. In most cases, the starting piece of cardstock was a half sheet of cardstock: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". We folded the cardstock in half like you would to make a card. Then we made a mark in the center of the 5-1/2" sides at 2-3/4". Score a diagonal line from the mark down the card fold on all four sides. Claire: First I remembered the animal boxes that we made last spring. (See them here.) I told Thomas and we thought we should make them again. So we asked Mom if she remembered how to make them. And she did! (See her tutorial here.) I used bright colors like blue and green even though real animals aren't those colors. I think my mix & match colors are cool and cute, so I like my style. Here are the animals I made.

Thomas: My sister and I came up with Tri-Animals because we loved the little critter boxes that we made last Spring. Claire and I renamed the boxes Tri-Animals because they are animals in the shape of a triangle. I made a monkey because it is my favorite animal. I was trying to make a lion, but I couldn't get the mane quite right, so I turned it into a giraffe. I also picked a tiger because the tiger is ferocious and I had an idea to make cool stripes.
