Stampin' Creative Global Blog Hop: Mini Treats

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently you are visiting Julie Davison from the middle of the United States (Central Illinois to be exact!). This month, my friends from around the world and I are sharing "Mini Treats" projects. I always feel challenged to create non-card projects, but the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog has some really fun new products that make it easy to dress up treats and small gifts!

For my project, I used one of two new tins in the mini catalog. I was inspired by the set of tins pictured on page 55. Stampin' Up! Concept Artists created three versions -- from simple to stunning! I wrapped cardstock around a Rectangle Tin and then added the banner and tag created with the new Beautiful Autumn bundle.

The August-December 2020 Mini Catalog starts next Tuesday, August 4th! You'll be able to get all of these new products when the catalog launches. Be sure to come back to visit my blog for more mini catalog ideas! I've been busy making up samples and can't wait to share them with you!

Playful Penguin Pop-Up Card

The Playful Penguins is perfect for sending wintery greetings to your friends! I made this pop-up card when I was designing cards for my Stamp of the Month Club Card Kit. (See the kit cards.)

I love doing "clean and simple" cards and then having a fun surprise inside! This is definitely one of those cards! I have the three penguins in small rectangles -- almost like pictures on a wall -- with the sentiment "you're so cool". And then the inside element pops out when you open the card.

This is a very simple pop up mechanic. I used a piece of cardstock that is 1" x 4" and scored at 1", 2", and 3". Attach the ends just inside the score lines using a strong adhesive like Tear & Tape. That's it! Easy peasy! The pop up will fold flap when you close the card.

Playful Penguins Merriest Wishes Card

Here is the final card in my Playful Penguins card kit. All of the kits are in the mail, but it's not too late to participate if you are interested in getting this Stamp of the Month Club kit!

I used the Brick & Mortar embossing folder on two of the cards in this kit. It reminded me of blocks of ice on an igloo. What do you think? Does it look like ice?

It's hard to see the sparkle of the glimmer paper in this photo, but that definitely helps give this card an arctic feel. I love the color colors too: Purple Posy and Highland Heather are a perfect monochromatic pair! Don't forget the Wink of Stella for some frosted shimmer!

VIDEO: Simple Slide Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Inspired by a make and take that my friend Meg Loven designed for our team meeting last month, I created my own version of this gift card holder using the Let It Snow Designer Paper from the Holiday Catalog. This project is quick and easy and perfect for last minute gift giving!

Which color striped paper do you prefer? Leave me a comment and let me know if you like "This" (Coastal Cabana stripes) or "That" (Real Red striples) better!

I thought the snowmen on the Let It Snow Designer Paper looked sleepy, so I used a Fine Point Sharpie marker to customize the paper and "wake them up"!

Here are the cardstock measurements I used:

• 4" x 6" Coastal Cabana Cardstock, scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2"
• 3-1/2" x 6" Let It Snow Designer Paper
• 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" Thick Whisper White Cardstock, scored at 1"
