Quilting with the Big Shot

I wish I could say that I made this myself, but the truth is that I don't own a sewing machine. Not only that, my husband is the one who sews buttons back on! About the only sewing I do is mending stuffed animals for the kids!

Given my sewing history, I was thrilled to receive this special gift at Leadership Conference in January. Every attendee received a hand-sewn quilt square made by the Stampin' Up! employees in Kanab, Utah.

The pieces of the flower were cut using the Big Shot. That's right! It's not just for cardstock! You can cut many materials using the big shot, including fabric, felt, cork, soda cans, leather...

At Leadership Conference, Shelli showed us several ideas for how we could use our square. She turned one into an apron, a pillow, and a hot pad. But I'm sure you can guess with my lack of sewing skills, that my square is still just a square. (wink!) Click here to check out photos of Shelli's projects. You'll also see some cards with the Elegant Trio stencils I featured last week AND a peek at a project using a new Summer Mini catalog stamp set. (The Summer Mini catalog won't be released until May, although demonstrators can pre-order from this catalog starting April 1st. Click here for more information about becoming a demonstrator so you can enjoy this benefit too!)
