"Thanks" Circles Card

I'm back! Bet you didn't even know I was gone! I pre-scheduled blog posts so that you could still enjoy new projects while I was away. Last week was Spring Break for my kids and we took a week-long vacation. We just went a few hours north and stayed in a condo. It was kind of home base for the week as we took day trips to visit friends and family. The Zoo. The Children's Museum. Swimming indoors. Mini golf. It was a full week of fun! I'll post some photos on our family blog later this week if you're interested in looking.

I didn't have a computer all week, except for two brief email sessions, so I'm trying to catch up on everything tonight: putting together project kits to mail, thank you notes, birthday cards, finalizing orders, catching up with downline, and lots of prep work for our big demonstrator meeting next weekend...sometimes I feel like it never ends!!

And while I was gone, the hit counter on my blog passed 600,000! Wow!! Time for some blog candy! Stay tuned on that...I'll post details later this week. In the meantime, here's yet another card using the "So Happy For You" stamp set. You have just a few more days to take advantage of the Sale-a-bration special. (Get a FREE gift for every $50 that you order in my Online Store.)

Stampin' Up! Supplies: So Happy For You, Rich Razzleberry ink & cardstock, Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Daffodil Delight cardstock, Old Olive cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Build a Cupcake Peek-a-Boo Card

Here's a more traditional use for the Stampin' Up! Build a Cupcake punch. I used it to make another "Peek-a-Boo" style card. The cupcake is adhered to the inside of the card, but peeks through to the front.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Build a Cupcake Punch, Celebrations DSP, Whisper White cardstock, Bashful Blue cardstock, Pacific Point cardstock, Real Red ink, Word Window Punch, 1-3/8" Square Punch, Paper Crimper, Red Glimmer Paper, Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Build a Cupcake Ice Cream Cone

Isn't this clever? Wish I had thought of it! I've seen several cards like this and can't remember where I saw it first. I used the Stampin' Up! Build a Cupcake punch (#121807, $16.95) and used the frosting for ice cream scoops!! I cut the cone by hand and used the Lattice Square Embossing Folder (#119976, $7.95) with my Big Shot to get the texture. The Red Glimmer Paper (#121790, $3.95) from the Occasions Mini Catalog is so perfect for the cherry on top!

I reused the layout from this Owl Together Card I posted two years ago. I had a different sample out on my desk and thought it would be perfect for the ice cream cone.

Supplies: Birthday Bliss, Full of Life, Build a Cupcake Punch, Red Glimmer Paper, Whisper White cardstock, Real Red ink & cardstock, Chocolate Chip cardstock, Crumb Cake cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Brights Patterns Designer Paper

Here's yet another card using the "So Happy For You" stamp set. If you don't have it yet...why not!?! You can get it free when you order $50 or more from my Online Store by March 31. And when you order from me, you'll get a free idea sheet using this stamp set. Click here for details.

When I sat down to create, I was using the FTL130 sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping. I didn't really like how my card turned out (below), so I played around with the same pieces I had out and came up with the card above. I think the stripes are a little less overwhelming with a smaller piece of the designer paper (which by the way is a retired Sale-a-bration 2009 gift). Leave me a comment and let me know which one you like best!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: So Happy for You (SAB), Bashful Blue ink & cardstock, So Saffron ink & cardstock, Certainly Celery cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Delicate Dots DSP, Sweet Buttons Sizzlit, Top Note die (Big Shot), Small Star Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

So Happy For You Notecard

I changed my mind on my favorite Sale-a-bration gift. I think it's the "So Happy For You" stamp set. It's so versatile and easy to use for quick cards. Here's a small note card I made using the items from the So Happy For You Getting Started Bundle that I put together last month. Just add the Notecards and Envelopes (#107311, $5.95 for 20).

When you order $50 or more in Stampin' Up! products this month, I'll send you a free project inspiration sheet for the "So Happy for You" stamp set. Whether or not you choose this as your free gift during Sale-a-bration, you can still use the ideas with the stamps and paper you have already at home.

Supplies: So Happy for You (SAB), Pretty in Pink ink &cardstock, Rich Razzleberry ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, White Note Cards & Envelopes, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Flight of the Butterfly 6x6 Page and Card

I enjoyed visiting with Andrea and her family and friends on Thursday when I helped her with her first workshop. One of the stamp sets she picked in her Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Starter Kit was the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, so I used that one to make this 6x6 scrapbook page. Click here for details on how you can customize your own Starter Kit.

I always like showing how you can use the same stamp set and same materials for both card-making and scrapbooking. Here's the card version of that 6x6 page. Just fold the cardstock in half to make the 3x6 card!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Flight of the Butterfly, Perfect Plum ink & cardstock, Rose Red ink & cardstock, So Saffron ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Neutrals Designer Buttons, Rhinestone Jewel Accents, Mini Glue Dots

"B is for Birthday" Hinge Card

I love the simple idea of this card, but I wonder if the recipient, especially a non-paper crafter would understand how to open it? The top is attached with a brad and you move it up to reveal the greeting underneath.

Supplies: Party Hearty, Melon Mambo ink & cardstock, Daffodil Delight ink & cardstock, Old Olive cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Ice Cream Parlor DSP (SAB), Silver Brads, 3/4" Circle Punch

Perfect Punch Birthday

Here's another old one I never posted. This is from a card class I did last fall...or maybe it was late summer. I lose track! I love stamp sets that have coordinating punches! The Perfect Punches greeting set coordinates with many different punches. This birthday stamp is paired with the 2"x1-3/8" Oval Punch (aka Wide Oval Punch) and glued to the inside of the card, but still visible through the window in the front.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Perfect Punches, Poppy Parade ink & cardstock, So Saffron cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Sunny Garden DSP, 2"x1-3/8" Oval Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon,

Top Note Gift Tag

As I was going through project photos recently, I realized that I never posted this tag that we did in Stamp Club last fall. The 3-D flower would be hard to fit in an envelope, but this large tag is just perfect to tie on to a gift bag. Sign the back side with your sentiment.

The flower is made from 5 or 6 scallop circles (I used the smaller of the two Scallop Circle punches). I curled up the edges and kind of crumpled the top circles (by themselves) and then layered them all together so that the flower had some dimension.

TIP: Adhere the designer paper to the Very Vanilla cardstock before you run it through the Big Shot with the Top Note die to get the faux stitched edges to shoe up on the designer paper.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Afterthoughts (level 1 Hostess set), Chocolate Chip ink & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Pear Pizzazz cardstock, Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, Little Leaves sizzlit, Stampin' Up! Top Note Die (Big Shot), Crop-a-Dile, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Buttons

Recycled Art Birthday Card

Here's another card to inspire you for my March Facebook Fan Challenge. The theme this month is "Go Green" -- and I'm not talking about the color green! The challenge is to use a recycled object or material on your project. Alter a Frappuccino bottle or a frozen juice lid -- or use a pop tab as a ribbon slide. The possibilities are endless! Click here to view more details about my Facebook Fan Challenge and find out how you could win a free stamp set!

Can you spot the recycled item on this card?

Maybe a close-up will help. Now do you see it? Can you tell where it's from?

Supplies: Birthday Bliss, Jet Black Staz-On Ink, Whisper White cardstock, So Saffron marker & cardstock, Regal Rose marker, Pretty in Pink marker, Subtles Patterns Designer Paper, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Brads, Smooth Top Coat Pearlized Accent Ink

Peek-A-Boo Bug Card

Here's another "Peek-A-Boo" card like the Sweet Summer card I posted last week. It has the same four square layout with the bottom corner punched out and showing the image stamped on the inside. To line the stamp up just right, I traced the window with pencil and used that as a guide to stamp the bug on the white cardstock. Then I erased the pencil mark.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Bugs & Kisses, Wild Wasabi ink & cardstock, More Mustard marker/ink, Whisper White cardstock, Designer Paper (retired), 1-3/8" Circle Punch, More Mustard 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)

"Sharing in Your Sorrow" Card

I recently designed the make and take projects for our annual demonstrator Spring Into Stamping meeting that's coming up next month. I am so excited about this years projects -- I think they are the best yet! With everything out on the table, I created this sympathy card for my downline Barb. (Hugs to you, Barb!!) While this is not one of the Spring Into Stamping projects, it's kind of a sneak peek because it uses the same supplies....

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Just Believe, Thoughts & Prayers (sentiment), Pear Pizzazz marker/ink & cardstock, Baja Breeze marker, Very Vanilla cardstock, Basic Gray ink pad, Baja Breeze Seam Binding

Redefining "Pop" Art

I CASEd this card from Gwen. Check out her original card here. I just love the simplicity of it. The square behind the leaf is just one of the Clear Blocks, inked up, and "stamped" on the cardstock! The stamp set is one of my favorite, "Lovely As a Tree". I got that stamp set in my Demonstrator Starter Kit almost 9 years ago! Learn more about becoming a demonstrator here.

Supplies: Lovely As a Tree, Thank You Kindly, Old Olive ink & cardstock, Certainly Celery ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Clear Block C, Certainly Celery 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Pop Can Tab

This card fits my new Facebook Fan Challenge. The theme this month is "Go Green". Click here to read all the details and then post your contest entry on my fan page by March 24th. My card is literally green, but the challenge is to recycle/reuse/repurpose an object or material on your project. My card uses a pop can tab as a ribbon slide! I can't wait to see how you "Go Green" and I look forward to your challenge submissions!

Before I wrap this up, I have to acknowledge a couple of blog awards. One from Gwen, who inspired today's card. Gwen recently awarded me with the Stylish Blogger Award (Thank you so much, Gwen!!) I'm so bad about blog awards. I always forget to post and can't narrow down who I want to give them to... In fact, I'm very belated, but also need to acknowledge the Cherry on Top Award from Kathy. Kathy is a member of my Stamp Club in Springfield and often posts multiple cards each day on her blog! I love keeping up with her latest creations. Thank you for the award, Kathy! Sorry I am so late in my response!

Baby Bug Card

I used the Clean and Simple Stamping sketch FTL126 as inspiration for this card that I'll send with a baby gift. I wanted a bold image to go with the bright designer paper. It's not really a typical baby card, but I kind of like it! On the inside, I wrote something about the baby being a cute as a bug.

Supplies: Bugs & Kisses, So Happy For You (SAB), Pacific Point ink & cardstock, Old Olive ink & cardstock, Melon Mambo ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Ice Cream Parlor DSP (SAB), 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 2-1/2" Circle Punch

Peek-A-Boo Window Card

I love this clean and simple layout with four squares and you probably recognize it from cards I've posted in the past. This time, I took it one step forward and punched a hole for some of the squares and put the designer paper (or in this case, stamped image) on the inside of the card to show through.

I've used three different Sale-a-bration products on this card: Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Buttons, Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper, and Sweet Summer stamp set. There's still plenty of time to Sale-a-bration -- this promotion doesn't end until March 31. You can get a free gift for every $50 that you order and when you host a $300+ party. Click here for details.

Supplies: Sweet Summer, Pacific Point cardstock, Melon Mambo marker, Old Olive marker, Jet Black StazOn ink pad, Whisper White cardstock, Ice Cream Parlor Designer Paper, Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Buttons, 1-3/8" Square Punch, Mini Glue Dots

Build a Blossom Thank You Card

Did I tell you that I wasn't going to get this stamp set and punch? I liked the idea of the Stampin' Up! Build a Blossom stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Petals Punch, but I thought it was too much work! After seeing so many beautiful samples, I was starting to cave when I WON both the stamp set AND punch as a door prize at Leadership Conference in January! I was meant to have it! {GRIN}

And I am having fun with it! Did you see the butterfly card I posted earlier this week? Here's a card using it the traditional way to make a flower:

I love the way this turned out! I used the Stampin' Up! Framed Tulips embossing folder to make a smaller frame on the Baja Breeze cardstock. (Click here to see my earlier post with a description on how I did that.)

And the blue ribbon flower in the middle of the button -- it's one of the vanilla Rosettes (#118774, $5.95 for 18) from the Occasions Mini Catalog. These beautiful ribbon flowers come in three different sizes. They are only available in Vanilla, but you can customize them to coordinate with your card by coloring them with markers! Yep, just a marker! Just color right on the ribbon to dye it! So easy!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Build a Blossom, Thank You Kindly, Baja Breeze marker/ ink & cardstock, Pear Pizzazz ink & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Early Espresso ink & cardstock, Springtime Vintage DSP, Blossom Petal Punch, Modern Label Punch, Sweet Stitches Big Designer Buttons, Rosettes, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (Big Shot), Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

"Things I Love" Lip Balm Holder

I bought some lip balm on clearance after Christmas. The patterns were so so darling - Melon Mambo and Basic Black and coordinated very well with the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper (which is still available in the Clearance Rack for only $3.49!). And the images on the lip balm were a perfect match for the "Things I Love" stamp set. I did this project with my Stamp Club last month. I found the directions and measurements on SCS here.

A loop of string secured to the back, wraps around the brad secured to the front, to hold it closed.
