"You Make Me Happy" Notecard Set

This weekend, I cleaned out some a box of card kit in my stamp room. It was basically leftover make and take supplies from all of last year. I decided I wasn't going to do anything with them and sorted the scraps. In my cleaning, I came across my make and take packets from Convention. I took a break from cleaning to make up this notecard set. I love the simplicity of it and I am inspired to make up some gifts for Christmas. The Tag a Bag Gift Bags are the perfect packaging for the set of notecards!

Convention Downline Gift: Festive Flurry Notecard Kit

As the tradition goes, I brought a small gift for my downline who attended Convention this year. My original plan was to do a notecard kit -- like the one here that I made up for hostess code orders in July (by the way, those are being mailed today!). But I ordered the new half size cases for Wood Mount stamps thinking the notecards would fit in there. And actually, I measured right. The notecards (folded in half) DO fit inside those cases. but the envelopes, which are slightly larger than the notecards, do not.

Since I already had the cases, I made them work and did a 3x3 notecard kit instead! Here's what I put inside this gift for my downline: (5) 3" x 3" Whisper White Cards, (5) Mini Envelopes, (5) 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" pieces of Designer Paper, (5) Die Cut Snowflakes, (5) Jumbo Rhinestones, (1) Thank You stamp.

I love the new Festive Flurry stamp set  and coordinating framelits! Come back tomorrow to see what else I have been making with them!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013: Last Day & Class Presentation

Today was the last day of Convention! I can't believe it's over! Convention was one day shorter this year and I don't know how they did it, but they fit three days into two!

General Session today included recognition for career sales milestones (Mom and I both walked for $200K career sales), and Anniversary marches. There were also some video highlights of demonstrators "Making a Difference" -- specifically the service project we participated in while in Fiji and also the one at Convention (to put together 2,000 birthday kits for patients at the local children's hospital.

Between General Sessions, we had three breakout classes. I presented with three other demonstrators at the Building a Thriving Business class. The topic that I spoke about was my Stamp of the Month Club. I was so excited to share my experience with other demonstrators. Did you see it? Leave me a comment if you heard my class!
Building a Thriving Business Presenters: Susie Wood, Alisa Tinsler, Donna Griffith, Daleen Pinder, me!

Bonnie Thurber was so very entertaining, as always, during her presentation at the last General Session. Next up was inspiring talk by Stampin' Up! President Rich Jutkins. I always love hearing him speak. His analogies are spot in and this points always come across very clearly! Of course, General Session wouldn't be complete without Prize Patrol and one more all-attendee giveaway!

Just when I was beginning to wonder if I would ever win, my wristband color (Melon Mambo) was called. As it turns out...EVERYONE won a Prize Patrol. Stampin' Up! gave away 25 different Prize Patrols (one for each year they are celebrating! The very last one hit the jackpot!! They gave each person with the last color wristband EVERY single stamp set in the Holiday Catalog!! Oh my goodness! Can you imagine!?! That's over 30 stamp sets!!!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013: New Product Announcement & Awards Night

I think that the opening General Session today was maybe the BEST ever in my book! We heard about THREE new products that will soon be available and of course, I want them all!!
  • NEW!! Thinlit Card Dies. These new framelit-type dies for the Big Shot are sooo cool!! The main piece cuts a "flip flop" or "swing" card (like this one), but in a different shape. Plus it includes other great cut-outs. I can't post pictures of the product yet, but they will be available on August 1st, so stay tuned!
  • NEW!! Envelope Punch Board. This is a great tool to make envelopes in many difference sizes. It's SO easy! No details on a release date yet, but I'll keep you posted!
  • NEW!! Undefined Stamp Carving Kit. Make your OWN stamps! Anything you want -- a name, logo, image. If you can draw it, you can make it in to a stamp! Check out this video from Stampin' Up! to learn more and click here to Buy It Now.

On top of all the fun new product announcements, there were some incredible projects demonstrated on Main Stage today! I can't wait to bring the ideas home to share with you!
Perhaps the very most exciting thing today was Awards Night. To be honest, I wasn't expecting so much excitement. While I have had a great year (my best ever sales-wise), I didn't think that I had enough going on in other award categories to qualify for Founder's Circle. I even brought a dress, but decided not to wear it and go "comfy". I was relaxed and enjoying cheering on my friends when their names were called. I wish someone could have gotten a picture of my reaction when I heard MY name called!! It truly was a complete surprise!

And I am still not over the SHOCK! I am so honored to be recognized as one of the Top 100 Demonstrators of the Year in the United States!! Thank you to all my customers and downline for making this such an incredible year! And thank you to all of all for your friendship and support!
An emotional surprise! Me with "The Bag"

Time for me to get some sleep! Tomorrow is the big day when I present in one of the breakout classes!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013: Just Getting Started!!

Whew! Convention didn't officially start until General Session this evening at 5:00 pm, but it was an action-packed evening!

I started the day with a rehearsal for the class I am helping to present on Saturday. Feeling nervous, but I'm trying not to worry about it! I did go on a Riverton tour to the Home Office, but it was so crowded, that I kept my visit short. I ended up walking down to Temple Square before meeting my friends for the first General Session.
Convention opened with the theme song...sung by Ryan Innes from the Voice! He has an incredible voice and I love this year's song! You can hear it and see the ENTIRE opening session on Stampin' Up!'s YouTube channel. Check it out here.

Some highlights...the big Convention bag reveal! It's a super cute white and silver backpack! I love it! One of my favorite bags, I think!

We also had our first all-attendee giveaway and we all received a brand new stamp set from the Holiday Catalog. I can't show it to you yet (since the catalog isn't live until August 1st).

Pam Morgan did a great stamping demonstration using the stamp sets that we received in our Convention bags. I really loved these cards and how they used the square framelits on a rectangular piece of cardstock to create a "Polaroid" look!
After General Session was the Opening Social. There was so much to do: Product Demos, Displays, Live Demonstrations by demonstrators, karaoke, Awards Booth, Paper Pumpkin info & giveaway, and so much more! My first stop was the Recognition Room -- an oasis for Award Achievers. After lines and crowds all day, I was ready for a couch an complimentary soda!

Mom and I posed for a Photo Op in the Recognition Room
Dad made his own MDS hybrid swap cards!

So tweet!! Awesome displays!
This is why I don't even bother entering the Artisan Award contest!! Incredible attention to detail!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2013: Arrival Day

We are here! After an hour and a half of sleep, barely making it to our gate in time to board the plane, and waiting 30 minutes for a shuttle...we are here!

None of the official Convention activities start until tomorrow, so we had a quick bite to eat, we went on a scheduled tour of Salt Lake city. As many times as I have been here, it's pathetic that this was the first time that I've explored the area! A highlight of the tour was the State Capital building. It was gorgeous!!

After the tour, we checked in to our room and unpacked. Before dinner, we met our friends in the lobby for the unveiling of the green hats! My upline, Kim Peck, decorates hats for us each year. They are bright green so we can easily find each other of the crowd. This year, there are 63 green hatters! And among them are my parents!
I'm so excited that Dad is attending Convention for the first time this year. He even made swaps!

After the reveal, Mom and Dad treated me out for dinner to celebrate my birthday.  And before settling down for the night, I managed to squeak in some time for the hot tub with one of my roommates, Cathy Roy! Check out this awesome little gift Cathy made for me!
I've gotten some other great gifts from my roommates and friends too! I love how some of them incorporated the Convention logo on their gift! I am putting the finishing touches on my gifts to hand out and will share pictures another day! For now...it's bedtime!!
