Stampin' Up! Halloween Bash Telescoping Card

Once you start making them, it's hard to stop! Here's a Halloween version of the Telescoping Card I posted last week. (Check out the video tutorial below.)
I designed this one for our demonstrator group meeting in Springfield earlier this week, but I forgot to bring the ribbon to the meeting. Oops! I think it looks better and is easier to move with the loop of ribbon at the top.

VIDEO: Telescoping Circles Card Tutorial

Two years ago, I posted a video slideshow and printable tutorial for the Telescoping Card. I started my YouTube channel to post this video slideshow and warned that I wasn't going to start doing videos...at least not yet. It was actually this "video" that made me change my mind. When I realized that the video had gotten over 30,000 in just six months, it was a real eyeopener!

I'm not sure why I didn't post a "real" video tutorial for this card sooner, but as a featured project in my July Stamp of the Month Club, here is the Regarding Dahlias version of the Telescoping Card:

Control Freaks Blog Tour: Halloween Bash Ensemble

Whether you're coming from the fabulous Mary Brown's Stamper Camper's Corner blog or just arriving, welcome!! I have been a Control Freaks Groupie for a long while, but this is my first time being an official tour stop and I am so excited!!

Instead of a theme this month, we are sharing our Convention or Holiday Catalog Swaps with you. I decided to showcase a brand new stamp set, Halloween Bash, from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. The catalog launches on August 1st and there are so many fun Halloween-themed products, including new Washi Tape! You're gonna love it!

Here is the card I made, using this set, for the Control Freaks Fall Swap.
I love the look of this "Faux Iris Twist" technique. Come back tomorrow to see my video tutorial so you can learn how to do this technique! It's a great way to use up scraps of Designer Series Paper!
(Edited, 8-12-13: Link to Video Tutorial)

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Halloween Bash stamp set, Express Yourself stamp set ("happy" from "happy birthday"), Basic Black marker & cardstock, Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Witches Brew Designer Series Paper, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestone Jewel accents, 1/4" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Here's another great way to use up those skinny designer paper scraps...the "Herringbone Technique"! It's next in line for new video tutorials to share with you, so make sure to come back and check that out later!

I used a black Sharpie marker to color in the rhinestones and make them black! It was so easy; and a fun way to add spooky pizazz to your project!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Halloween Bash stamp set, Jet Black Staz-On Ink, Basic Black cardstock, Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Summer Starfruit ink & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Witches Brew Designer Series Paper, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Basic Rhinestone Jewel accents, Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheets, Stampin' Dimensionals

Finally, I stole my hubby's last Reese's Peanut Butter Cup to make up this cute little treat! The Chalk Talk framelits make it super easy to dress up a cello bag with candy inside.
"Eat if You Dare"? Oh, I dared!! The chocolate survived long enough for the photo shoot and then I opened and ate it while I uploaded photos! Oops! It was supposed to be for my hubby...guess I'll have to go out and buy some more!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Halloween Bash stamp set, Basic Black marker & cardstock, Pumpkin Pie marker & cardstock, Summer Starfruit marker, Whisper White cardstock, Chalk Talk Framelits (Big Shot), Labels Collection Framelits (Big Shot), Rhinestone Jewel Accents (colored with a Sharpie again!), Medium Cello Bag, Summer Starfruit Stitched Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Well, that's it for today! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll come back and see me again soon! In the meantime, keep hopping to the next tour stop: Judy DiScipio's Judy Stamps blog!

Best of Everything Telescoping Card

Here's another Telescoping Card I whipped up for Jan's party last week. This one uses the Best of Everything stamp set and Cheerful Treat (Hostess) Designer Paper.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Best of Everything stamp set, Melon Mambo ink & cardstock, Concord Crush marker & ink & cardstock, Lucky Limeade ink, Whisper White cardstock, Scallop Circle Die, Perfect Pennants Die, Circle Scissor Plus, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Concord Crush Ribbon, Silver Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, Mat Pack

Thanks to Kelly Acheson for the inspiration to make these cards. I saw this post back in June and knew I had to CASE it!

Here's one last Telescoping Card. I promise to share something new next! This is one that Mom designed for her Stamp Club using the Fruits & Flowers stamp set and Berry Blossoms DSP. We didn't have enough of the same pattern shown in the tutorial for her Stamp Club, so we just changed the paper and used different stamps from that set. Make your supplies go the extra mile for you!

Telescoping Card Tutorial

I am addicted to making these Telescoping Cards! (Click here to see my Flirtatious Telescoping Card.) They are so easy and once you start, you just can't stop! And I've got great news! I finished the tutorial!

Today's card uses the new Fruits & Flowers stamp set and coordinating Berry Blossoms designer paper. In fact, this is the third card in the set that I made with my mom's downline last week. Click here to see the first two projects.

I made a little video to show the movement of this card. (It's more like a string of photos than a video.) It's so fun to open and close! Who doesn't love a card that moves or does something!? (By the way, this card will fit in the Medium Square Envelopes, which do require some extra postage since they are square.)

As a side note, don't get too excited about my new YouTube channel. I started a new account for this video, but I don't have any plans for "real videos" anytime soon. I just don't have the right equipment or the time. I'm not saying never...just not right now!

The list of supplies for this card is in the tutorial with links to my Online Stampin' Up! Store so you can get what you need to make this at home. Click here to view the FREE print tutorial.

(I forgot to include the greeting stamp sets on the supply list. "Birthday Greetings" comes from the Upsy Daisy stamp set, and the inside message is from Full of Life. I used Early Espresso ink to stamp them.)

Flirtatious Telescoping Card

I've decided: there are just not enough hours in a day! Here's a quick update and then I have to get right back at it. My stamp room is coming together. I have the big stuff in, but I have more boxes to bring in from the garage. I don't know how there can possible be more -- where did this stuff come from!? (wink!) We're also moving back into the toy room. (Again, how did we fit all this stuff in here before!?) I'm trying to keep up with everything else, including stamping events, but I'm still behind. So please be patient with me! I hope to catch up a little more this weekend...but already I can tell my "to do" list is too long!

Check out this fun "Telescoping Card"! It's easier than it looks and very addicting once you start making them!
