Greek Isles Cruise Highlights + Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks

I had hoped to pre-schedule some blog posts while I was gone, but I ran out of time! We just got back from the Greek Isles Stampin' Up! incentive trip! It was amazing! Thank you to all of my customers and team members who helped me earn this amazing dream vacation!

Photos can not quite capture the beauty of the Mediterranean, but here are highlights from our trip. After a day of cruising from Rome, our first port was Santorini! We took the cable car to the top and started our guided tour with a stop in Oia with amazing views of white-washed buildings and blue domes.

 Part of our tour in Santorini included a stop at a family winery where we enjoyed a tour of the museum and a wine tasting.

Next up was Mykonos. We had hoped to do a snorkeling excursion, but it didn't work out before the trip, so we enjoyed sleeping in and got off the boat in the afternoon to do a little shopping in this quaint seaside town.

Next up was Athens! We were very lucky with temps in the low 80's (it was over 100 degrees the day before!) -- it was perfect weather for our guided tour of the Acropolis. We started at the museum where we learned a lot about the history of the Parthenon. History came to life on the hill!

Our tour included a tasting of some authentic Greek food at a local restaurant near the fish and meat market. I am not an adventurous eater, but enjoyed trying everything!

We stopped by the Parliment building just in time to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider in Syntagma Square.

Our last port was Katakolo, Greece!  We enjoyed another slow-paced day with some seaside shopping and a train tram ride to the beach, where we took a refreshing dip in the saltwater!

On the ship, we enjoyed visiting with our demonstrator friends and their guests and making new friends! It is always a treat to share this experience with my parents. As many of you know, Mom was my first recruit 17 years ago and I am so proud of how hard she works to earn these trips!

 

While the purpose of the trip is definitely a reward and vacation, we do have the opportunity to network with other demonstrators and the Leadership Team. I was happy to chat up and share some feedback. But mostly I was excited for the reveal of the 2019 Holiday Catalog. We got a sneak peek during the general session with product demonstrations and the make and take sessions.

Alaska Cruise Highlights + Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks

First of all, I'm okay! I have gotten some concerned emails from many of you since it's been three weeks since I last posted here. July was kind of a blur. I had bronchitis for a week and had to cancel all of my birthday celebration plans. (I turned 40 this year!) I was finally fever-free the morning of my birthday and had 48 hours to pack and prepare for our trip to Alaska for the Stampin' Up! incentive trip. For the first time, we took the kids with us. It was our first big vacation that wasn't to visit family. As such, I had no idea how long it would take to pack 6 people for 10 days in suitcases. Wow!

But we made it!! We left two days early to spend some time in Seattle and we packed a lot into one day -- using every coupon except one in our City Pass! We started with a harbor cruise, then visited the aquarium, the Space Needle, and the Pacific Science Center.

 

When we boarded the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas the next day, our first stop was the Stampin' Up! Hospitality Room (aka Stamper's Base Camp), where I got to spin for a prize each day and the kids loaded up on candy!
 

The kids loved every part of the cruise -- eating in the "fancy" dining room every night, towel animals, playing mini golf in the middle of the ocean, and of course Alaska!

 

 

We stopped in Juneau and Skagway, Alaska and Victoria, Canada. Here are a few highlights of our adventures.

Of course, some of my favorite parts were a little different than the kids! I was so excited to get the first peek at the new Holiday Catalog and we got a lot of new product and incredible logo items (a purse, jacket, blanket, and bluetooth speaker) as pillow gifts each night. I even got to sneak in time to visit with some of my favorite stamping friends!

What's next? We have one week left of summer before school starts on August 16th, but I'm already full swing into playing "taxi mom" with marching band, softball, dentist/doctor appointments! Plus, we are down to the wire with our planning for Vacation Stamping School -- our big, annual demonstrator training event for our team. That's coming up in one week on August 18th. And as if all of that wasn't enough, my laptop died! I actually brought it on the cruise with me to do some work and it won't start up. I'm working on data recovery now and hope to get it back up and running or get a new machine within the next week. Then I'll be back in full swing with regular posts, projects, and videos again!
