Here's a fun fold card that is sure to WOW your friends and family! It's called a Gate Fold Shutter Card. When you open the simple gate fold front, two panel open like a camera shutter to reveal a designer paper image underneath!

VIDEO: Gate Fold Shutter Card Tutorial

It's the last day to get the Bird Banter stamp set and all of the retiring stamp sets and products from the Annual and Occasions Catalogs, so I had to squeak in one more tutorial for the week! This fun fold card is the third card in my May Stamp of the Month Club card kit.

I made a peek-a-boo shutter card many years ago, but changed up the measurements a little and finally created a tutorial to explain the cuts and scores that will make this card a piece of cake for you to make at home!

The front is fairly simple with a row of little birdies. When you open the card, the shutter opens to reveal another bird next to the birthday message.

Here are the cardstock measurements for the main pieces of this card:

• 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Lemon Lime Twist, scored at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8"
• 3" x 5-1/2" Tangerine Tango (inside)
• (2) 3" x 4" Tempting Turquoise
• 2" Circle Punch 

Watch my video tutorial to learn how to cut the cardstock and assemble the Gate Fold Shutter Card. Even though the Bird Banter stamp set is retiring, this card template and idea will work with any stamp set! Stay tuned! I'm sure I'll make some more cards using new catalog products.

Abstract Impression Gate Fold Shutter Card + VIDEO

I'm counting down the end of the Annual Catalog by featuring some of my Last Chance Favorites! I never post this fun card after I first made it two years, so the designer paper I used as retired, but the new Best Dressed Designer Paper (that is retiring this year!) also coordinates beautifully with the Abstract Impressions stamp set in a softer color scheme.

It looks pretty simple on the outside, but look what happens when you open it up!

The Gate Fold Shutter Card is not as hard as it looks! Watch my video tutorial from 2018 to see how to make it. All of the measurements for this card are the same as the ones I used on the Bird Banter card.
