Sweet Treat Snow Globe Card

Looking for some great Black Friday specials? Don't forget Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Extravaganza sale! And when you place an order on my website (or via email) by Monday, you'll get a special gift from me and be entered in two drawings -- one winner will receive the Snow Buddies stamp set, that I used to make this card! Click here for all the details on the sale and drawings.

This snow globe card is so darling! You can mail it in one of the Sweet Treat Padded Envelopes (#116911, $2.95/3) available in the Holiday Mini Catalog or hand-deliver to your favorite snow buddy!

Let me breakdown some of the details. I punched the 1-3/4" Circle from a small piece of Whisper White cardstock. The circle that is punched out is stamped with the snowman. I colored it in with markers. Then, I added some fake snow (for the Christmas Village aisle of your favorite holiday shopping center) to the Sweet Treat cup. Not too much or it will cover up your snowman! Peel the backing off the Sweet Treat cup and gently place the stamped circle over the opening. It just barely fits. Apply adhesive to the back of your Whisper White cardstock, insert the Sweet Treat cup in the hole with the snowman right side up, and adhere to the Bashful Blue cardstock. (Note: The base of the snowglobe is the ornament from the Sweet Centers stamp set. You could also use the basket of the hot air balloon, which I think is a little more proportionate in size to the Sweet Treat cup.)

For the background paper, I used the Bride Speciality paper (#115669, $13.95). It comes with 5 sheets each of 2 different patterns (this one and stripes). I used the rubber brayer to apply ink to the paper. The iridescent design on the paper resists the ink and shows through the color. Isn't that cool? I've seen several people demo this technique...not sure who originally thought it up, but I love it! This paper can be used for so much more than wedding stationary! Just think of the possibilities as you brayer the designs in any of our 55+ colors!

Supplies: Snow Buddies, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sweet Centers, Many Merry Messages, Jet Black Staz-On, Chocolate Chip ink/marker & cardstock, Pumpkin Pie marker, Bashful Blue ink/marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Bride Speciality DSP, Rubber Brayer, Sweet Treat Cups, Ticket Corner Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, fake snow

I was inspired to use the Sweet Treat Cups to make the snow globe after seeing Iilina Crouse's card. Thanks for the inspiration, Iilina!

Sweet Center Treat Card

I made several of these 4" x 4" cards to give away as door prizes at Tricia's party a couple weeks ago. It's a card with a treat built right in! The Sweet Treat Cups (#116802, $2.95) make this card a cinch and you can mail them in our card size padded envelopes (#116911, $2.95/3) so they stay safe during transit.

Don't miss the new Snow Globe stamp (#120868, $8.95) in the Holiday Mini catalog. It is also designed to coordinate with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch (#119850, $16.95) and Sweet Treat Cups (#116802, $2.95). LOVE it!!

Supplies: Sweet Centers stamp set, Early Espresso ink & cardstock, Poppy Parade cardstock, More Mustard cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Autumn Spice DSP, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Sweet Treat Cups, 1/4" Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon

Thanksgiving Turkey Sweet Treat Cup Card

Every time I look at this card, it makes me want to giggle! I found my inspiration on Stampin' Connection again and combined elements from projects by Connie Collins and Karen Philipp. Here is my clean and simple take on the Sweet Treat Cup turkey.

I will be offering this project as a make and take at my upcoming workshops this month. It's not to late to schedule a party with me! Send me an email to snatch up a date before Thanksgiving and you and your friends can make this card at your party!

To make the card, start by punching a 1-3/4" Circle at the bottom center. Stamp the petals as feathers around the hole. Fill a Sweet Treat Cup (#116802, $2.95 for 12) with Reese Pieces (or other fall-colored candy), peel off the adhesive liner and cover with a cardstock circle. Put the cup through the hole and add embellishments to create the turkey face.

Supplies: Pick a Petal, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Tangerine Tango ink & cardstock, Daffodil Delight ink , Chocolate Chip ink/marker & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Sweet Treat Cups, Mini Glue Dots, Wiggly Eyes, Candy

Spring Into Stamping Highlights

I mentioned a little bit about the event in my last post. Our Spring Into Stamping event really turned out great! Everything always seems to fall into place and I think we make it look much easier than it actually is! It takes a lot of people and a lot of time to prepare and pull it off. Thanks to everyone who helped out to make the event such a huge success!

I should have taken more photos, but I'll share a few that I did. In addition to the workshop presentations by Tammie Rundle, Mary Ellen Stites, and Susan La Croix (that's my mom!), we had over 10 different product demonstrations by many talented demonstrators in our group. Sherla Carpenter, Kim Peck, and Meg Loven shared some great ideas about reaching new customers with Decor Elements, Simply Adorned Jewelry, and My Digital Studio (respectively). And after Laura Yates and Rachel Chamberlain's demonstrations, I think I'm finally going to cave and buy some colored glitter! Rae Anne Littrell had the most beautiful projects using a variety of techniques to create paper and ribbon flowers. I can't wait to try them out! Nancy Hawthorne showed off some pretty easel cards and shared some easy tips to put them together. Cathy Roy wow'd with her Simply Scrappin' projects. Jan McGowen got punchy with her display and showed some different ideas with Paper Lace. Jessica Ingold showed off her out-of-the-box creative side with her Kids & Lids demo, showing us a variety of projects using frozen juice lids! And Stacey Schafer sold me on the Glassy Glaze embossing powder with the Cracked Glass technique. Check out her Cracked Glass samples here.

My favorite demonstration of the day was Leslie Sollars, who showed us the Waterglobe card technique. I was AMAZED to see her use WATER in the Sweet Treat Cups to create these fishy cards.

Leslie started with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter, added the water (yes, just plain water!) and sealed the Sweet Treat Cup (#116802, $2.95/8) with a small piece of Window Sheet (#114323, $4.95). The waves were made from the Swirly Decorative Strip die (#113456, $19.95) and the stamp set with the little fish is Something Sweet (#117688 (W), $27.95) from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Who would've thought!? Water in a card! Leslie said she CASEd this idea from Australian demonstrator Vanessa Webb.

Autumn Spice Hot Air Balloon

I had a quiet house to myself or an hour this evening before our group meeting, so I managed to make up a few swaps to take with me. I used Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 50 to get me started. The colors in the Autumn Spice Designer Paper were perfect and I'd been wanting to make a hot air balloon with my Sweet Centers stamp set. It's designed to be used with the Sweet Treat Cups, but I just punched a piece of the DSP instead.

Supplies: Sweet Centers, Heard from the Heart, Cajun Craze ink & cardstock, Crumb Cake cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Autumn Spice DSP, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1/16" Hole Punch, Regals Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals
