Mini Golf Birthday Invitation with Stampin' Up! Punches

We celebrated my son's birthday this weekend with a party at the local mini golf place. Short on time, I whipped up these simple invitations, inspired by a card I found on Pinterest. I printed the text on Whisper White cardstock and then dressed it up with some punches.

It's hard to see in the photo, but I texturized a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to make it look like a golf ball. The dots were too far apart to show on the small circle punch, so I ran it through twice and moved it over just slightly the second time to get more dots.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Whisper White cardstock, Island Indigo cardstock, Basic Black marker, 2011-2013 In Color Patterns Designer Paper, 2012-2014 In Color Patterns Designer Paper, Pennant Punch (flag), Large Oval Punch, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (golf ball)

Bootiful Halloween Card

My friend Meg Loven was so sweet to welcome me to my first Founder's Circle retreat with an unofficial pillow gift. It was the perfect gift for my hiking adventures and of course it had a super cute card to go with it! The card is totally my style and I knew you would love it too, so I had to share. Thanks again, Meg!!

Cannery Framelit Ribbon Apple Card

Dawn Griffith demonstrated some cards at the Stampin' Up! Convention  where she used a punch and "filled" it from behind with different ribbon. I love it! Her cards were my inspiration when I created this card from my Stamp Club and downline meetings this month.

Even better -- you can get this Raspberry Ripple Stitched Ribbon for FREE with an order of $40 or more before Sunday, September 30. Learn more.

I used the Cannery Framelits from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog to make the apple shape frame and then stamped the stem from Perfectly Preserved stamp set above it. (Save 15% when you buy the stamps and framelits together.) I applied SNAIL adhesive around the back side of the frame in the 1-3/4" Circle, added the ribbon and them sandwiched another 1-3/4" Circle covered in Adhesive behind it so that it didn't fall apart.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Perfectly Preserved stamp set, Sweet Essentials stamp set, More Mustard cardstock, Raspberry Ripple cardstock, Lucky Limeade ink & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Early Espresso ink & cardstock, Orchard Harvest Designer Paper, Cannery Set Framelits, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Raspbery Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Wonderfall Baby Wipe Card

I made this card when I was working on my Stamp of the Month Club series. I was experimenting with the Baby Wipe technique, but ultimately decided I liked these stamps with more bold, solid colors.

If you haven't tried the Baby Wipe technique before, it's easy! Just fold a baby wipe into quarters. Add drops of reinkers in multiple colors and then use the baby wipe as an ink pad and stamp your image.

I used the Core'dinations Cardstock as a layer piece on this card. I did not emboss it, but simply sanded the surface to give it some texture. Here's a close-up:

SNEAK PEEK! New Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!: Feel Goods

Someone asked me if Founder's Circle was what I expected. ABSOLUTELY! I have been a demonstrator for 10 years. I've closely followed blogs and seen every detail of past trips posted online. I knew EXACTLY what to expect and I was not disappointed!! It was everything I expected and it was wonderful!

And one of those things I was expected was new rubber! Stampin' Up! Founder's Circle Achievers usually get a brand new un-released stamp set to use for make and takes and this year was no exception. The stamp set we received is called Feel Goods. I assume it will be in the next seasonal catalog that will be released in January.

I'm only half done with my make and takes, an 8x8 scrapbook album. I'll share photos of it when I"m done. In the meantime, check out these projects that were on display in the Gathering Place throughout the retreat. These projects also feature the new yet-to-be-released Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit.

Ornament Keepsakes Founder's Circle Swap Card

Part of the Founder's Circle Retreat experience is swapping with all of the other top demonstrators. Talk about intimidating!! With help from some friends back home (big thanks to Amy!!), I made 120 of this card to swap! The theme this year was 2 layers or less and it was a big controversy as to what counted as a "layer". I think the idea was to share good workshop make and takes and I think this one fits the bill!

Founder's Circle 2012: Last Day in Utah

I am EXHAUSTED! And I have to pack my suitcase because tomorrow morning I will leave to head back home. It will be another long day or travel. Sure wish I could just teleport home!

So my update will be brief tonight! Mostly just pictures so I can to bed at a reasonable time. I started the day with another outdoor adventure. The views were A-MAZING!! And the whole time I kept saying, "I'm so glad I didn't sleep in!" It was definitely worth the early rise. We went hiking and  zip-lining. The hike was easy and it wasn't very steep, but before we knew it, we had made it to the top! From the bottom, it seemed impossible to get there, but we made it -- one step at a time!!

We went out for lunch afternoon and I spent a little time in the Gathering Place to start work on my make and takes. I didn't get them finished, but I enjoyed spending time with some new friends and got to visit with Shelli. I played Plinko for a prize and got a new 8x8 scrapbook album that goes with the Simply Scrappin' Kit we used for our projects. (I'll post photos of those another time.)

Then, tonight, we went to see a live performance of Hairspay at the Tuacahn Ampitheater! The red rock was a gorgeous backdrop for the stage. And the performance was great!!

It was LATE when we returned to the hotel and I was anxious to look for our last pillow gift. We each received a charm bracelet and a sand dollar charm for the 2012 Founder's Circle. Each year we earn Founder's Circle, we'll get another charm for our bracelet. I love it!! I hope to add another charm to it next year! Nothing's guaranteed, but my time here in Utah has been incredible and I will work hard so that I might have the opportunity to come back!

Founder's Circle 2012: Road Trip to Arizona!

I didn't plan well my excursions well. Instead of sleeping in and relaxing, I've been on the go!! Today we left bright and early and drove on buses to Kanab, Utah, where the Stampin' Up! Manufacturing Facility is.  We got the grand tour and learned all the ins and outs of making rubber stamps! And I didn't realize it, but some of the ink pads are also produced in Kanab! I even got to try filling a bottle of Garden Green ink and put the lip, cap, and label on! We got several gifts while we were there, including an awesome new stamp set that I can't show you yet.

Usually, after the tour, Founder's Circle Achievers go to a local park for lunch. I was looking forward to the infamous park because instead of woodchips or sand on the playground, they use scraps of rubber that are recycled and chopped up from Stampin' Up! Well, we didn't get to go to the park, but I did get special permission to climb inside a box of scraps in the room where it's chopped and shredded! It was soft and cushy and would be great on a playground!

After a cookout with the employees, we were back on the bus and off to our surprise special event -- which turned out to be a raft float down a 15 mile stretch of the Colorado River in Glen Canyon...in Arizona!

The views were breathtaking! Seriously, the photos don't do it justice! To give you an idea of how high the rocks were...check out the arrow pointing to the other raft ahead of us in the left corner of this photo:

Our pillow gift (not pictured) when we got back to the hotel was a framed photo of Horseshoe Bend, which we went around on our ride. I love the sentiment on the back about remembering the "big picture" when you in the middle of the ride!
After the float, we grabbed dinner packed in a cute thermal tote and ate on the bus during the 4 hour drive back to St. George. Phew! What a long day!! Lots of prizes and a GIANT snack basket made the bus ride more bearable, and of course chatting with fellow demonstrators made it go quickly!

Now off to bed so I can wake up early for a new adventure!
