Last Chance: Pendant Notecards

I enjoy getting together almost every month with some stamping friends for "Card Club". It's basically a shoebox swap -- everyone brings a project to make and we pass the trays around the table making each person's card. It's so nice to just sit and stamp and visit. I appreciate the grown-up time! We do a different theme each month. This month the theme was wedding/anniversary. I designed this card using the retiring Pendant Notecards. (Click here to find them in my Online Store.)

One of the images in the Baroque Motifs stamp set coordinates perfectly with the shape on the Pendant Note. I stamped it with Versamark ink on the inside and added the greeting (from a hostess set) over it.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: All Holidays, Baroque Motifs, Occasional Quotes, Jet Black Staz-On Ink, Versamark ink pad, Pendant Notecards, Very Vanilla cardstock, Basic Black cardstock, Boho Blossoms Punch, Rhinestones Jewel Accents, Stampin' Dimensionals

Last Chance Favorites: A Flower for All Seasons

Catalogs have been sent. (I even included something extra inside!) New drywall is up downstairs. We're starting to paint. Carpet is ordered. I'm shopping for new furniture...we're making progress!!! By this time next week, I hope to have everything done and ready to move back in to the family room, guest room, and office/stamp room. Just in time for holiday weekend company!

I have a few more Last Chance favorites to share and then some new projects to post and THEN brand new catalog samples. I'll probably save the brand, brand new stuff for July 1st, which is only one week away! Make sure to get your Last Chance orders in before next Thursday! Click here to shop now.

Both these cards, and the Spring Tulips card I posted a couple of weeks ago, use the A Flower for All Seasons stamp set. This is one that is retiring, so make sure to get it before it's gone on June 30! Click here to find it in my Online Store.

Last Chance Favorites: Cheep Talk

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by my "to do" list. It just seems never-ending! Hope to share some new stuff soon, but it's just not top on the list. So here are a couple favorites using the soon-to-be-retired Cheep Talk stamp set. Click here to find it in my Online Store.

Last Chance Favorite: Always

I love a good stamp set with coordinating designer paper. The Always stamp set used to have some designer paper that coordinated. It's long retired now, but the stamp set is still a good one and you can create your own coordinating paper with the stamps in the set!

Click here to find this stamp set in my Online Store.

I stamped the bird in Chocolate Chip ink and then colored in the negative image of the flowers using markers.

Strength & Hope: Mother of Pearl Technique Tutorial

I hope you have been enjoying all the Last Chance Favorites that I've been posting this month. I have some new things to photograph and share and I hope to do that soon. We're still dealing with the mess downstairs and my stamp room has been moved to several parts of the house (bedroom, kitchen, boxes in the garage). I'm hoping to be back to normal in early July. I'm excited about reorganizing my crafting space and look forward to sharing pictures of the process!

In the meantime, I found something new that I haven't shared yet! This was a Stamp Club project last month and I took pictures before we left for Alaska and never posted.

This technique, Mother of Pearl, is really stunning to see in person! It was highlighted in a recent Stampin' Success magazine. That's the monthly magazine that demonstrators get. (Love it!!) But don't worry, I'll give you a little how-to!

First, start with Frost White Shimmer Paint (#116854, $5.95), Glossy White Cardstock (#102599, $5.95), a disposable plate, and plastic wrap (scrunched into a ball).

Pour a small amount of paint on to the plate. Use the ball of plastic wrap to "pounce" and apply paint to the glossy white cardstock. Allow to dry. Using a Rubber Brayer (#102395, $12.50) and Classic ink pad, roll over the cardstock until you get the desired shade of color.

The dried paint will resist the ink. Rub a cotton ball in a small circular motion over the cardstock to remove the ink off the dried paint. Viola! Stamp on the cardstock using Staz-On ink or use as a background piece.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Strength & Hope stamp set, Basic Gray ink & cardstock, Blushing Bride ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Glossy White cardstock, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Rhinestone Jewel Accents, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Rubber Brayer

And the winner is...

I wish I could give a prize to everyone! But I'm not Oprah, so you'll have to settle for one winner! I used Random.org to select a number, which corresponded to the comments left on the 650K Blog Candy post and the winner is
Tracy Stancil said...

We had a scrapbooking day at church and the grand prize was $45 album. My girlfriend asked my daughter to draw a name and of course like any other mother, I'm yelling, PULL MY NAME BABY. And she did. She was more excited than I was.

June 9, 2011 12:23 PM

Congratulations, Tracy!! Please email me with your mailing address so I can send out your prize!

I'll be giving away another prize over on my Facebook Fan Page because we just surpassed 250 fans! If you're not a fan already, hurry over and "Like" my Fan Page to be eligible for the next Facebook Fan Freebie coming this weekend!

Last Chance Favorites: Petal Pizazz Emboss Resist

I love this card from two years ago. I saw the idea on Shelli's blog. I think it was one of her daughters who originally posted the technique. It's a classic "Emboss Resist", but instead of plain paper, I embossed on a piece of designer paper so the pretty patterns shows through even after you brayer the darker color over it. This bold flower from Petal Pizazz is perfect for this technique! Make sure to snatch it up before it's retired on June 30. Click here to find Petal Pizazz in my Online Store.

650K Blog Candy & Alaska Cruise Highlight

Every year I hold a Customer Appreciation Party to say thank you to my customers for supporting my business and stamping with me. My favorite part of the whole night is giving away prizes. What a joyful thing to make someone's day with a special gift to make them smile. I can only imagine what Oprah feels like when she gives away cars!!

It's also kind of fun to be on the receiving end of prize-winning. On the Stampin' Up! Cruise to Alaska, they had a guessing game in the hospitality room for us. Almost every day there was a new bag of Stampin' Up! goodies and we had to feel the bag and guess how many products were inside. And guess who won Bag 2!? ME!!

When we got back to our room after a late night in Juneau and a quick dinner, there were a message on my room phone saying that I had won! I screamed. I mean literally screamed! I was so excited! Unfortunately, the hospitality room was already closed. And the next morning we had to be off the ship bright and early for an excursion, so I had to wait the WHOLE next day before I could check in and claim my prize! Here I am with the bag:

And all the loot spread out on the table:

There were 34 items in the bag with a total value over $250!! WOW!! There was a lot of consumable stuff like ribbon, adhesive, buttons, envelopes, but also some fun stuff like a stamp set, Big Shot folder, a set of 10 markers (!), SIX packages of Rhinestones...

What a thrill!! Have you ever won a prize? Leave a comment and tell me about the biggest prize you ever won and I'll choose one random winner next Wednesday, June 15 to receive my 650K Blog Candy: the Playdate Rub-Ons and coordinating Funky Four stamp set. I'll also throw in a surprise item from my bag of loot!

For my record more than anything else, here are the latest blog stats, as of today, 6-8-11:
Days Blogging: 1,078 (3+ years!)
# of Posts: 992
# of Hits: 656,061

Last Chance Favorites: Spring Tulips Card

Today I finished packing up my stamp room. As I mentioned the other day, we had some water (from the sewer line -- yuck!!) that backed up in the lower level while we were gone on the cruise and now we're dealing with clean up. They are removing the carpet and even some of the dry wall and trim in the affected areas and that means everything has to be packed up and moved. I am exhausted!! While I am saving out stamping supplies to prep for my events this month, I'm simply not going to be stamping as much as I normally do in the next couple weeks.

Since I won't have a lot of brand new projects to share, I thought it would be fun to re-post some of my favorites using products on the Last Chance List. I hope you will find inspiration and snatch up these favorites before they are gone forever at the end of the month!

Today's card uses the A Flower for All Seasons stamp set and the Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. Click here the original post and project details.
