As Seen on TV: Thanksgiving Table Decor

http://www.illinoishomepage.net/ciliving-stories/d/story/creative-corner-thanksgiving-table-decorations/38753/GNnXRSo3s0KhIZQ6wgGz2QI was thrilled to go back on ciLiving this afternoon to share some seasonal projects with WCIA viewers. Click here to view the video on the ciLiving website.
I created a set of projects to decorate your Thanksgiving table -- all using one package of the Color Me Autumn Designer Paper and Autumn Accents Big Shot die. Since there are twelve 12" x 12" sheets of paper, you can create multiples of each project. Here are some close-up pictures and project details.

Place Cards: Use a 4" x 6" piece of Designer Paper and fold it in half. Use the Skinny Minny Alphabet (or similar) to stamp each name on a 1" x 4" piece of designer paper or Very Vanilla cardstock.

Napkin Sleeve: Start with two 4" x 6" pieces of Designer Paper. Use Sticky Strip to adhere the sides of the paper together. The top and bottom are open to slide the napkin through.

Favor Box: Start with a 6" x 8-1/2" piece of designer paper.
  1. Using the Scoring Blade on your Paper Cutter, score the cardstock at 2”, 4”, 6”, and 8”.
  2. Turn the cardstock lengthwise and score once more at 2".
  3. Cut the score lines on the shorter end up to the 2" score line you made in step 1. These flaps will become the bottom of your container. (You can completely cut off the small flap on the end.)
  4. Put SNAIL adhesive or Sticky Strip on the side flap and 3 of the 4 bottom flaps and assemble the box.

Candle Wrap: The size of the Designer Paper will depend on the candle that you use. I started with 4" x 12" designer paper and wrapped it around the candle. I use the burlap ribbon to hold the paper in place. WARNING: Remove paper decorations before burning the candle.

5 Ways to Use the Tag Topper Punches

Today, I made another appearance on WCIA's ciLiving Creative Corner segment. I shared some projects showing different ways to use the new Tag Topper Punches from Stampin' Up!. I created all of these Valentine's Day themed projects using the Angled Tag Topper Punch, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack from the new Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.

Missed my Creative Corner segment? Watch it now:

The Tag Topper Punches are so easy to use! Simply cut a piece of cardstock or paper to 2" in width, slide it in the punch, and push down to create a decorative edge! It even punches the hole perfectly in the center of the top of the tag! You can make the tags any length you want!

I am sure there are many more, but here are the ways that I used the Tag Topper Punches for this set of projects. Click here for a printable version (.pdf) of this guide.

5 Ways to Use the Tag Topper Punches:

  1. Create a traditional tag for a card, scrapbook page, or gift. See samples.
  2. Punch both ends of the cardstock for a unique tag. See sample.
  3. Make a bookmark
  4. Create a box. Punch both ends and add small pieces of cardstock to the sides.Click here for Video Tutorial.
  5. String multiple tags together to make a banner. Click here for details.

Tag Topper Punch Love Banner

I'm getting ready for another Creative Corner segment on WCIA's ciLiving. (Central Illinois fans, tune in this afternoon on Thursday, January 30th to see me!) I have created a set of projects for Valentine's Day using the new Tag Topper Punches from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog. I think these are my favorite new thing! You can create tags in many different lengths for cards, scrapbook pages, gift packaging, and home decor. Here's a sneak peek of one of the projects that I'll be sharing on ciLiving.

I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch to create this banner. It's so easy! I just trimmed each piece of cardstock to 2" wide and then punched the topper. It cuts the corners perfectly and even punches the hole right in the center! Here are some close-ups of the tags:

Sharing "This & That" with TV Viewers & Washi Tape Notecard

It has been kind of a nutty week. I scrambled around to make samples and learn about our new This & That product line so that I could showcase these awesome new products on TV! That's right -- TV!! I made my first TV appearance on Friday during a five minute "Creative Corner" segment on our local afternoon talk show, ciLiving.

If you saw the show live, please leave me a comment and let me know! If you missed, you can watch the video online! I can't figure out to embed the video, so click on the image (or here) to view it on the ciLiving website.

Looking for the "This & That" About Me Journal Idea sheet that I mentioned during the segment? Click here to see Friday's post for details.

Here is the quick notecard that I demonstrated at the end of the segment. It's so easy! I used strips of the new washi tape from the "That & That" product line in the corner of one of the Notecards & Envelopes. Then I stamped the Sassy Salutations greeting in Basic Gray and added a little flower from Itty Bitty Punch Pack with a rhinestone in the the middle. You can even decorate the envelope to match!
