Not gonna lie...I felt a little stumped by the April 2021 So Cool Paper Pumpkin Kit. I wasn't sure what to do with these cute shaped cards. But once I started crafting, the ideas just kept coming!
I started by cutting apart the shaped cards and using them on cards.
I cut the watermelon card apart and into three slices, using one on this card:
I cut apart the watermelon card and added a strip of cardstock in the middle of the two halves to create a small box! The middle cardstock is 2" x 7-3/4", scored at 1/2" and 1-1/2" down the long side. I cut small slips from the sides to the score lines so that I could "mold" the cardstock around the watermelon shape. Watch the video below to see me create this little gift box.
I used the brand new #155558 Basic Borders Dies to cut the cloud layer for the rainbow card above and below. (These dies will be available to order starting Tuesday, May 4th!)
I love that the Paper Pumpkin team included two sheets of coordinating stickers in this kit. They were included to seal the envelopes, but I used the images on my alternative projects:
After creating a Corner Pocket Card during Thursday Night Stamp Therapy, I thought it would be a fun card to "hold" the popsicle-shaped card. The base is 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". To create the corner pocket, I cut a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of cardstock in half diagonally and added a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of envelope liner "designer paper".
It fits, but I thought I'd try it with a card too. (The card base is 3-1/4" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" and the designer paper is 3" x 4".) Which way do you like it better -- with the popsicle or the designer paper card?
The Corner Pocket Card sparked another idea to "tuck" the shaped card on to a card base. For this card, I added a strip of cardstock (1-3/8" x 4-1/4" Cardstock and 1" x 4-1/4" Designer Paper) across the top, using small pieces of Tear & Tape only on the sides.
The kiwi popsicle comes out and I customized it with an accordion center. I cut apart the shaped card into two pieces and added a long piece of cardstock in the center. The inside cardstock is 3" x 11", scored at 2-1/2", 5", 7-1/2", and 10".
