Stampin' Creative Blog Hop: Stampin' Up! Peaceful Cheer Spanner Panel Card + Video Tutorial

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently you are visiting Julie Davison from the middle of the United States (Central Illinois to be exact!). This month, my friends from around the world and I are sharing projects with the theme of "Christmas Cheer". There are so many great Christmas stamp sets in the July-December Mini Catalog! One of the most popular ones has been the Peaceful Cabin bundle and coordinating Peaceful Place Designer Paper.

Here is a card that I designed using this beautiful winter suite. I was inspired by several Spanner Panel Cards that I received for the Great, Big Card Swap and I created my own version for my local stamp club to make.

This card is easier than it looks! It's a regular card size, with the sides cut from the end to the fold. Then a longer piece spans the gap and connects the side pieces, opening independently from the middle.

TIP: Use Thick Basic White cardstock for the piece that spans the gap and connects the end flaps. Use a strong adhesive like Tear & Tape.

The mini catalog is winding down and Stampin' Up! has announced which products will retire. (Some of them are on sale starting December 1st!) Check out the links at the bottom of this post for my easy-to-read guides to what is being discontinued.

Unfortunately, The Peaceful Cabin bundle and coordinating Peaceful Place Designer Paper are on the Last Chance list. That means they won't be available after the catalog ends on January 3rd -- and it's possible the dies and designer paper may sell out before then. So make sure to shop early for the best selection!

Grab what you need to make this card and then follow along with my video tutorial (below) to make your own at home and see the cards that inspired me! Here are the measurements for this Spanner Panel Card:
  • 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Card Base, score at 4-1/4" and cut at 1-1/8" from each side up to fold
  • (4) 7/8" x 4" Designer Paper
  • 3" x 4" Designer Paper (for center)
  • 3" x 4" White
  • 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" Smoky Slate
  • 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" Thick White (to die cut cabin)

But first, it's time to carry on with the blog hop and see what other amazing projects my Stampin' friends from around the world have created to celebrate the Christmas season!
