This or That? Stampin' Up! Sweet Stockings Christmas Projects

I designed two projects using the same card layout for a recent Sunday Stamping video. The first card incorporated the stamped gifts as a border across the bottom of the card, but I was worried that it was too busy, so I created a second card with a larger piece of designer paper for the background. Which of these do you prefer? Leave a comment below and let me know!

TIP: I used the masking technique to stamp the cat image over the stocking. Stamp the stocking first, then cover the top edge of the image with a sticky note and stamp the cat. Remove the sticky note to reveal the clean image (no line stamped through the cat's paws)! I colored the cat and stockings with Stampin' Blends.

Card Layout by Julie Davison ~ www.juliedavison.com
Here is the layout that I used. This is the same layout that I shared with my team for a recent creative challenge. Want to duplicate the look at home? Here are the measurements that I used:
  • 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Old Olive Cardstock
  • 4" x 5-1/4" Designer Paper Background
  • 3" x 3" Cherry Cobbler Designer Paper
  • 2" x 4" Basic White Cardstock

Watch the replay of Sunday Stamping with Susan and Julie to watch my tip for masking as I create these cards and share more project ideas using the Sweet Stockings Suite!

I love your this or that posts, to see different ideas for one layout. In this case, I prefer the first one—that’s a lot of stripes on the second one!
