Stampin' Up! 8 Dashing Along Project Ideas ~ Dashing Deer ~ 2018 Holiday Catalog
There are so many great designer papers in the new Holiday Catalog, but there is one extra one that's NOT in the catalog that you'll want to add to your collection! The Dashing Along Designer Paper is an exclusive paper pack featuring three double-sided designed in tradition Christmas colors. This paper was available in September exclusively for hostesses, but now everyone can purchase it while supplies last!

Kinda Eclectic Convention Make & Take

I must confess: I did not create any of my make and takes at Convention. There was so much other stuff going on, that I decided to just take them home and do them on my own. Now, I actually have to follow through and do them! I started with an easy one. I love this Kinda Eclectic card. Even more so, I love that they showed us a clean and simple version and a "stepped up" version of the card. Here's my stepped-up version:

Stampin' Up! Kinda Eclectic Stepped Up vs Simple
At Convention, both cards were on Whisper White cardstock, but I decided to cut my "stepped up" card and layer it on a Old Olive card base. The other ways this card is "stepped up" is the additional bitty butterfly, punched from vellum cardstock and attached with a Basics Hodge Podge Clip. I also added loops of Linen Thread under the Kindness banner. This look is very popular in paper-crafting this year. It's really easy to do.
  1. Wind the linen thread around your fingers to create a group of loops.
  2. Apply adhesive (I used SNAIL) to the cardstock in the middle of where you want the loops to be.
  3. Stick the Linen Thread on top of the adhesive with the loops spreading above and below the area with adhesive.
  4. Use Stampin' Dimensionals on the embellishments that go on top.

Convention Highlight Video

I'm in the airport waiting for my flight to board. I opted for sleeping instead of posting more pictures last night, but I know you understand! Here's a picture of our group -- my downline and sidelines. Many thanks to our upline Kim Peck for sending the light-up green hats! We sure missed you this year!
Watch for a close-up of the green hats in this highlights video from Stampin' Up!:

Convention Update: Big News!!

Holiday Catalog Cover
Wow! Convention has been a blast so far! On the first day, Stampin' Up! revealed the new Holiday Catalog and holy cow, it's a good one! I'm so excited to get to pre-order (and take home) some new holiday goodies! There are so many new punches and dies and beautiful designer papers. I can't wait to share it all with you! Customer ordering starts August 28 and you can expect to receive your copy in the mail in mid-August.

Check out my favorite new stamp set. This will definitely be a Stamp of the Month Club pick this fall!!

Last night, we attended an optional class and made a little book of techniques broken down into three categories: stamps, ink, and paper. We got a whole bag of goodies to take home and use to try the techniques at home.
The first two days have been filled with classes, make and takes, display boards, swapping, and my favorite: catching up with friends (new and old)! This set of cards by Ilina Crouse on one of the display boards really caught my eye! I don't usually use black as a main layer (outside of Halloween), so I found these designs to be striking! And check out this amazing 3-D swap one of my downline received from Diane Tunnell!
The big news came at Awards Night tonight. It was recognized again as one of the Top 100 Demonstrators of the Year and invited to attend the Founder's Circle retreat this fall. I was also one of six demonstrators invited to serve on the 2014-2015 Advisory Board. Advisory Board members provide the company with direction, experience, and opinions from a demonstrator’s point of view.
I'm still on cloud nine! What an incredible honor to represent my fellow demonstrators!

Many, many thanks to my customers and my downline for helping to make this year my very best yet! And hugs and kisses to my family and friends for their love and support!

A Wicked Birthday

Today is my birthday! Well, at least for 20 more minutes in Salt Lake City. It's been a LONG day. I left my house in Illinois at 3:00 am. (Yes, three hours after midnight!) to drive up to Chicago and then fly to Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up's annual Convention (aka Inspire. Create. Share. 2014). We arrived early, so after lunch, we went shopping. And tonight, we kicked off Convention festivities with our Green Hat Reveal, Bag Pick-Up, and Paper Pumpkin Party. We didn't stay long because we had tickets to see Wicked!! It was my first time and I loved it!

But now I am exhausted! Here are few pictures from today. I can't wait to see what's in store for us tomorrow! I will try to share updates each night!
