Stampin' Up! Sweetest Star Gate Fold Pocket Card Tutorial + Video

Merry Christmas! Whether you are still crafting or saving ideas for next year, I hope you enjoy today's project share! This Gate Fold Pocket Card is versatile enough for any occasion, so try changing up the colors and images to create cards for birthday, graduation, wedding, or thinking of you! I've even included an alternative sample using the Full of Life Suite at the end of the post!

The Christmas version uses the Sweetest Star Bundle and Take a Bow Designer Paper. The Sweetest Star stamp set is on the Last Chance, but the Sweetest Star Punch will continue to be available after the Sept-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog ends.

The card base is a regular gate fold card -- scored at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8" with the opening right down the center. Adhere to the sides of the bottom panel down to create a pocket to slide the inside message inside. 

Pocket Card Measurements:

• 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Real Red Cardstock, scored at 2-1/8"
• (2) 3" x 4-1/4" Basic White Cardstock
• (2) 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" Garden Green Cardstock
• 1/2" x 4" Granny Apple Green Cardstock
• (2) Punched Stars from Take a Bow Designer Paper
• Scrap to stamp and punch star from Basic White cardstock

Bonus Idea: Make a tag or ornament using the Sweetest Star Punch by folding the punches shapes in half and adhering the sides together.

VIDEO: Sunday Stamp Along with Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Blooms

Last weekend marked the three year anniversary of Sunday Stamping with Susan & Julie -- the weekly video series that Mom and I started to share Stampin' Up! projects with you every Sunday! (Take a walk down memory lane and see some photos from the past three years.)

To mark the occasion, we did a special Sunday Stamp Along episode! I love doing Stamp Along episodes! Not only do Mom and I stamp together at the same time, we also invite you to stamp along with us! Here is the card that I designed for this week's video. I was inspired by one of the cards on page 22 of the Annual Catalog.

Julie’s Stamp Along Card Measurements 

• 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Card Base, scored at 4-1/4" 
• (3) 1" x 4-1/4" Designer Paper 
• 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" White/Vanilla 
• Stamp/Die Cut images to fit White/Vanilla 
• 1-3/4" Circle or shape for greeting 
• Ribbon/Embellishments as desired

Stampin' Up! Open Horse Open Sleigh Shaker Card + Tutorial

I love to celebrate Christmas in July! Celebrate with Me! And with Stampin' Up!'s new Online Exclusives set to release on July 6th -- I think it's safe to assume that they do too! 

Get a head start on your Christmas cards this summer with the new Open Horse Open Sleigh Suite! The beautiful 6" x 6" designer paper includes storyboook illustration-style art like the designer paper I used to create this shaker card.

To create this shaker card, I used the Deckled Rectangle Dies to die cut the center of the designer paper. I adhere the center piece to the card front using Stampin' Seal. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the frame. Then, I surrounded the center piece with Adhesive Foam Strips. I added the shaker element (sequins) inside the "walls" and then removed the adhesive liner and added the designer paper frame over the top.

Stampin' Up! Slim Saying Graduation Cap Fun Fold Card Tutorial

Last week was graduation week at my house! My son Thomas graduated from high school! We are so very proud of him and can't wait to see what the future holds. He plans to attend community college and wants to go into a trade. My nephew Miles also graduated high school last week! In last week's episode of Thursday Night Stamp Therapy, I shared a special graduation card that I made for them! I love the way it turned out!

At his graduation party, we displayed photos, Thomas' varsity letters (for Academic Honors and Archery), and his Archery Medals for all his Top 10 finishes during his senior season.
