Spritzed Embossing Folder Background

My mom's birthday was Sunday and I wanted to make her a special card for her birthday. I used a new stamp set (Beautiful Bunch) and tried a new technique. I was inspired by Margaret Raburn's card here. It was easy and I think the results are stunning, so I will have to try this again with other embossing folders. Margaret used embossing folders with larger designs (like the Mosaic and Hexagon Embossing Folders), so the color is a little bolder.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Beautiful Bunch stamp set, Wetlands stamp set, Very Vanilla cardstock, Calypso Coral ink & cardstock, Pool Party ink & cardstock, Wisteria Wonder ink & cardstock, Fun Flower Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits (Big Shot), Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding, Pearl Jewel Accents

Spritzed Embossing Folder Background:
  1. Use Sponge Daubers to add different colors of ink inside the flattest side of the embossing folder.
  2. Use the Stampin' Spritzer to spray the embossing folder with water until the ink slightly pools.
  3. Place a piece of Watercolor Paper inside the embossing folder and close.
  4. Apply firm pressure over the embossing folder with your hand, allowing the watercolor and ink to soak into the watercolor paper. (I did NOT use the Big Shot to emboss the cardstock.)
  5. Allow to dry.
Here's another sample using the new Lovely Lace Embossing Folder. I wasn't quite as happy with the layout and finished card on this one, but the background is really pretty in person!

Hi Julie! Thanks for linking to this technique on my blog! Both your cards are beautiful; I love the soft colors and the lovely effect they give! And the finished cards are delightful! I keep experimenting with more embossing folders (and cards) with this technique... it's addictive! : )
