Paint Play: Happy Birthday Presents Card

The new Paint Play stamp set is not just for flowers! Click here to check out all of the cards that I have made with this fun stamp set so far. I was having so much fun playing with this stamp set earlier this week and I was really digging the Global Design Project Color Challenge (#GDP101), so I made one more card for this week's challenge!

Just like on the Paint Play Butterfly Card, I used a marker to color only part of the smaller flower image to create the gift bow on each present.

 

When I was all done making this card, I had some extra pieces stamped, so I whipped up another card.  Usually, we talk about starting simple and then "stepping up" a card design by adding embellishments. In this case, I "stepped it down" to create a more clean and simple card. Which one do you prefer? Leave me a comment and tell me why!

Carols of Christmas Peace on Earth Card

I found my stamping mojo this week! I can't remember the last time that I made so many cards! Yesterday, I busted out all of my new Holiday Catalog products and made TEN different cards! I don't know about you, but that's unusual for me to create so many new cards in one day. I usually fuss over it and tweak it for an hour before I glue everything done and then sometimes even after that I come back and tear it up and make another change. I can't wait to show you everything I made! But first, I have another card using the Carols of Christmas stamp set. I cut the bottom of the card front off to show the embossed cardstock on the inside.

Paint Play Topiary Catalog CASE Card

I bought the Paint Play stamp set because I loved the card sample in the catalog! So I used that card as inspiration for the second project in my Paint Play card kit. Here are the projects from the catalog:

I like the colors in the original sample, but I stuck with the colors that I chose for my card kit and stamped this card with Berry Burst, Old Olive, and Soft Suede. All of the topiary elements are stamped and "fussy cut" with scissors. As I sit here typing this, I'm wondering if I should make that Soft Suede cardstock go all the way to the edge of the cardstock. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

 

It's hard to see in the photo, but I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits for the square. I love the simple texture it adds to any project! Here's a close-up so you can see it better.

Paint Play Butterlies Card for #GDP101

For today's Paint Play card, I created butterflies by combining several different stamps. Check out my chart below so you can identify which stamps I used!

The colors of this card were inspired by the Global Design Project Challenge #101. The colors are Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay, and Night of Navy. I love the GDP color challenges! I probably wouldn't have put these colors together on my own!
