Jingle All the Way Decor Block

While I'm posting gifts, here's the beautiful gift I received from Sherla at my upline's recent holiday party gift exchange.

We draw numbers and pick a gift or "steal" from someone else. It's a lot of fun and usually there's not much stealing even though Kim encourages it. Well, I got number 1, and that lucky draw gave me the opportunity to trade gifts with anyone at the end of the game! Since the gift in my hand was more snowflake ornaments (like the one I posted yesterday), I decided I'd trade a gift with someone else. And who better to steal from than Kim! Hee hee! She liked the ornaments from Teresa and I got to take home Sherla's gift. Sherla used the small Jingle All the Way Decor Element (#114707, $3.50) to decorate this glass block filled with pine cones and holly. Thanks, Sherla!

Watch Me Grow Book

The new Decor Elements Growth Chart (#117519, $24.95) is so darling! I put it up in our playroom over the weekend. It was pretty quick -- just make sure you have two people for the main ruler part!

I used the bird from the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits to creater markers with each child's name to mark their height.

We don't plan to be in this house forever, so I don't want to leave marks on the wall (that's one thing I love about Decor Elements is that you can remove them without leaving a mark!). I made the bird markers movable and will take a picture of the kids by the growth chart marker so that we'll have a record on how tall they are at various milestones. Here is the little book I made up for the pictures.

The pages are 5" x 5" Kraft cardstock. I used the Crop-a-Dile to punch holes and bound them together with a 1" binder ring. The tree trunk & bird on the cover are from the Season of Friendship stamp set and the tree top and leaves are from the Scallop Circle Punch.

Supplies: Growth Chart Decor Elements, Season of Friendship, Kraft cardstock, Regal Rose cardstock, Sage Shadow cardstock, Chocolate Chip ink/marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Billboard Alphabet die for the Big Shot, Birds & Blooms Sizzlits for the Big Shot, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Crop-a-Dile, 2-Way Glue Pen

The Decor Elements Growth Chart (#117519, $24.95) is only available until September 30. Order now from my online store and you'll get a free applicator to apply it! Go to my website at juliedavison.stampinup.net and click "Shop Now".

More Decor Elements Photos

Have you seen the latest vinyl art available from Stampin' Up!? The Decor Elements line was expanded this winter to include new art and new colors. Click here to check out the latest brochure. You can order Decor Elements online via my website (http://juliedavison.stampinup.net/) -- just click "Shop Now". Send me an email if you'd like to receive a free copy of this brochure in the mail.

Last month I added some new Decor Elements to my walls. I wanted to put up the new tree image, but my husband didn't like it, so we settled on this quote to go over the couch in our family room: "Life isn't a matter of milestones, but of moments."

And I finally got around to adding the Manhattan Flowers to our recently re-finished guest bathroom:

It's hard to see the Kraft flower in the second bathroom photo because of the glare off the mirror. But you can see how the Chocolate flower goes right over the corner and on to the other wall. I love that!

Decor Elements are so easy to apply! My favorite part is that they are removable and do not leave any marks on the wall when you take them down -- making it the perfect way to dress up the walls of a rented apartment or college dorm room. My Stamp Room

Yesterday I cleaned my stamp room and I took pictures of this rare moment in time so that I can later remember what my floor and my desk look like! (wink!)

My space certainly isn't as big as I would like it to be, but I'm happy to have a "room"! My stamp room/office is off of the laundry room, near the large family room/play room. When I have stamping events in my home, I pull tables out in the family room. So my stamp room is where I keep all my stuff and where I sit and create. (Not pictured is the other side of the room with my desk and computer.)

I have two large cabinets on the right wall (only one is pictured here). One cabinet stores my cardstock and my stamp sets; the other cabinet stores business supplies, DSP & 12x12 cardstock (both kept in 12x12 Paper Holders (#105528, $7.95), and other miscellaneous accessories. For now, my Big Shot and dies are on top of the cabinet with my stamps. I put all the dies in a shoebox size plastic box.

I keep my ink pads on my table so I can quickly pick out what colors I want to use. I store them in the Color Caddy (#104335, $59.95) with the Extender Kit (#107063, $14.95) to accommodate all 48 colors plus neutrals and In Colors. It has a tray on top to store reinkers.

Here's a closer picture of the Decor Elements on the wall behind the table:

"Life is good." Especially when I'm in my room stamping! I love this Decor Element (#114138, $7.95). I jazzed it up a little with some of the bulk buy flowers available to demonstrators. (You can get your hands on some of these little flowers by placing an order with me this month!)

On a separate note...the color of the walls (kind of a celery/gable green cross) was already done when we moved in. I didn't dislike it enough to paint over it (yet). I don't know what color I would choose if I was picking it myself.

Between the cabinet and the wall is where I keep all the fun stuff!

All of my punches are easily accessible on BYGEL rails from IKEA. The hanging baskets to hold the smaller punches and handheld punches are from the same line at IKEA.

The metal shelf underneath is from Walmart. Top shelf holds Forget-Me-Not-Keepers (#105525, $11.95) with adhesive on one side and finished cards on the other. There's a basket on top of the right box with my SNAIL, scissors, bone folder, and other "use often" tools. My markers and leftover Make-&-Take materials are in the middle. Second shelf holds two plastic shoeboxes: one with embossing supplies, one with brads/buttons/eyelets/etc. Crafter's Tool Kit and Crop-a-dile in the middle. Bottom shelf holds Craft Keepers (#104181, $6.95/3) with my cardstock scraps sorted by color family (and by color within that).

The punches and items on the shelf are within reach when I'm sitting at the table creating.

This jar, featuring another Decor Element, holds all my ribbon scraps and sits on the ledge by the window.

Also not pictured are two closets in the room. One of them is filing cabinets and office stuff. The other one stores stamping stuff...alterable items, old catalogs/Stampin' Success mags, card samples, bags, extra cardstock....everything! Hanging on that closet door is an over-the-door wire rack that holds my Ribbon Keepers (#107636, $17.95/2). The rack was something the previous home owners left behind. It's pretty handy! I'll take a picture of that another day....

Purse Tin with Rub-On Cards

I found this cute little purse tin at Hobby Lobby and thought it would be perfect to hold cards. I decorated the front with one of my sample Decor Elements (get one free when you place an order with me in November).

Decor Elements are very similar to Rub-Ons. They are larger, made of vinyl, and especially suitable for applying to walls.

See more Decor Elements in action here. Click here for instructions on applying Decor Elements.

The cards inside the purse all use the Love & Happiness Rub-Ons from Sale-a-bration 2008. Did you miss out on these colorful rub-ons? I'll be giving some away very soon as part of my first Blog Candy! Watch for details later this week!

Supplies: Love & Happiness Rub-Ons (Olive & Black), Junior Varsity DSP, Rose Red cardstock, So Saffron cardstock, 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon

Full of Sweetness and Wonder...

As promised, here are some photos of some of the new Decor Elements up on my walls.

This first photo is what you see when you walk in my front door. We live in a bi-level, so when you come in the front door, there is a small landing and then you have to go either upstairs or downstairs. In the photo, you can see the railing for the upstairs (with my son Thomas peeking through!).

This Decor Element ("Home is built of love and dreams.") is a Hostess Level 2 option. You can choose it for free when you have a workshop or catalog party with $300+ in sales.

The next one I put up is in Elise's nursery. I was thrilled with the new Decor Elements options, including the new colors. I still may get the pink Nursery Necessities images, but when I ordered this one, I didn't know yet if I should be getting pink or blue. (This one is "Sweetness", #114740, in Chocolate.)

Wanna see who is in that crib?! I know you do! So many of you have been asking for more pictures of my sweet Elise. Here are two that I took just last night. She's getting so big!

DECORated Candy Jar

I have ordered several of our new Decor Elements and am finally starting to put them on the walls. (Watch for pictures tomorrow!) But Decor Elements aren't just for the walls! You can use them on windows, candles, mirrors, cars... the list goes on!

Demonstrators were able to purchase some Decor Elements flowers in bulk to demonstrate and use in classes and workshops. I used one of these 2" flowers on this empty jar and filled it with Hershey Kisses. It dresses up the jar so perfectly!

I stamped a little tag to go on the jar to give as a gift. I used the Scallop Edge Punch to punch a couple scallops and create the corners of the tag. Another use for this great punch!

I would love for you to try Decor Elements! Place an order with me in November and I'll send you a 2" flower to try at home!

Supplies: Best Yet, Sweet Always DSP, Chocolate Chip cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Regal Rose ink & cardstock, Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Rectangle Hole Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Circle Punches
