VIDEO Sheer Perfection Vellum Flap Fold Card Tutorial

Earlier this week, I shared a card using the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum that I colored on the back using Stampin' Write markers. (See it now.) This new Sale-a-bration gift is simply GORGEOUS! For this card, I colored on the back of the vellum with the White Gel Pen. The results are stunning! It was tedious to color each little leaf on the vine, but I love the way it makes the vellum pop on the Strawberry Slush cardstock!

12 Days of Christmas Gifts for Teachers

I wanted to do something fun for the kids' teachers this year, so we are giving them small gifts every day for the 12 days before Christmas break. We're 7 days in and while I love the idea of spoiling  our teachers, I'm struggling to keep up! I haven't taken photos of all of the gifts because some days, I had to send them out the door within minutes of finishing! Here are a few gifts that we gave last week:
Stamp a Tag Kit with "Get Your Santa On" Gift Tag
Candle wrapped in Nordic Noel Designer Paper + Four Frames Tag
Notecard Envelope Pouch with Cocoa
Pin It!
Some of the gifts, like the cocoa packets, we made extras to get to the "specials" teachers (Art, Music, Gym). I know these little gifts are just small tokens, but hopefully the love comes through. I truly appreciate all of these people who spend their day with my children! I have a larger gift planned for the last day!

In the meantime, I hope to work ahead a little on Sunday so I won't have to do some much last minute scrambling! I'll share more pics of other gifts later this week!

Control Freaks Blog Tour: Freaky Friends & Motley Monsters

Greetings from Utah! I'm far away from home this month hanging out with the other Top 100 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators of the Year at the Founder's Circle Retreat, but I couldn't resist participating in this month's Control Freaks Blog Tour so I could share some fun Halloween projects with you.

Whether you came from Judy DiScipio's blog or you are just joining the fun, you're in for a treat! Make sure to hop all the way through the tour to check out what we've created. This month's theme is "Boo to You".

For my projects, I used the brand new Freaky Friends stamp set and Motley Monsters Designer Paper from the Holiday Catalog. I wasn't going to get this stamp set, but the little goblins are just too cute! I couldn't resist and it arrived on my doorstep a week before I left.

My first card is a fun "Flap Fold Card". It's a fun fold card that is so much easier than it looks!

Here's how to make the Flap Fold Card:
  • Start with a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock and score at 4-1/4" and 8 5/8".
  • Punch a 2-1/2" Circle in the center of the second score line (put it as far in as it will go).
  • Then decorate! The Designer Paper is 4" x 4". And I used the 2" Circle Punch and 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch for the owl and bird.
  • The flap tucks into a Banner Punch. Make sure to put the dimensional only on the bottom part of the banner so you can tuck the flap under.
Check out my VIDEO TUTORIAL for the Flap Fold Card here.

I used the Old Olive Blendabilities to color Frankenstein on this clean and simple card. I love the graphic look to the Chevron punch on the sides!

Lastly, I decorated these "Milk Bottles" (from the "Dollar Spot"!) using the Motley Monsters Designer Paper and more of the Freaky Friends goblins. I love the Motley Monsters Designer Paper more than I thought I would. There are many non Halloween designs that are versatile enough to use any time of year!

That's all I have for you today! Be sure to come back and visit me again for more project ideas using products from the new Holiday Catalog! For now, it's time to continue on with the tour and head over to see what Justin Krieger has in store for you!

Little Letters Friend Card

I'm CASEing the Catalog again! I actually made several changes this time. I love the card on page 125 of the Annual Catalog, but I thought the sewing and the shaker part was a little fussy, so I simplified it a little bit by using Gold Soiree Designer Paper behind the Little Letters cutout. I used the same colors, but changed the base color to be Crisp Cantaloupe. Lastly, I changed the layout and switched from a horizontal card to a vertical layout.

I thought there was a video from Stampin' Up! about using the new Little Letters Framelits, but now I can't find it, so I'll add that to my to-do list and try to do a video soon with some tips for you.

Retro Fresh Peechy Keen Notecard Sleeve

My favorite part of Washi Tape is that you can tear it and it still looks great! In fact, the imperfect edge is how it's supposed to look! I used the Retro Fresh Washi Tape from the Occasions Catalog on this clean and simple notecard and sleeve.
The pocket for the notecard is a Crumb Cake Notecard size envelope. I sealed the envelope, cut the side off, and then punched it with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. Here's the notecard on the inside. I used the Another Thank You Photopolymer stamp set for the inside greeting.

Spring Tulips Flap Fold Card

We had a great time at our team meeting last night. It's always fun to get together with other demonstrators and stamp and share and inspire each other. Last night's meeting started off with our first Stamp for a Cause event. We turned old card swaps into cards to donate to the Ronald McDonald House for guests to use. Many hands make light work. In one hour, we made over 1,200 cards!!

It was my turn to bring make and takes to the meeting. Here is one of the projects that I designed. I did a spring version of the Flap Fold Card that I shared back in November.

The Pistachio Pudding cardstock is 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 2 ½” and 6¾”. Watch my video tutorial to learn how to make this wow card! (Note: The stamp set and colors are different, but the basic template for the card is the same.)

Super Simple Christmas Cocoa Pouch

I had a great time stamping with friends last night! I shared some super simple holiday projects, including this Cocoa Pouch.  I just love the Stamp a Tag Kit! It's so perfect for making quick, cute tags, but it also makes a great gift to give as a set.

This is another version of the Notecard Envelope Pouches I made in October. Here's how to make it:
  1. Lick and seal a Crumb Cake Notecard Envelope.
  2. Use the Scallop Edge Border Punch to punch a decorative edge on one end.
  3. Wrap Designer Paper around the pouch.
  4. Stamp a tag and adhere to the pouch with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Easy, peesy, lemon squeezy!!

VIDEO: Floating Pop Up Card with Mosaic Madness

Whew! Stamp of the Month Club packages are in the mail!! And here is the video for the third and final project in the Mosaic Madness series for June. (Learn More about Stamp of the Month Club and find out how you can get cards like this -- already done -- in your mailbox!)

This card is one of my very favorite Stamp of the Month Club cards that I've ever done. I have to give a special shout out to Candy Michael for sharing the basics for this card at our Swap & Share in Fiji. Her samples were gorgeous, including several with floating words inside. Here's my take on the floating pop up card with Mosaic Madness:

Inside: Strips of Window Sheet allow the mosaics to "float".

The key to the floating pop up card is the little strips of Window Sheet. (Find it in my Online Store here.) Watch my video tutorial to see how it all comes together and learn how to make this card at home:

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Mosaic Madness stamp set, Really Good Greetings stamp set, Strawberry Slush Ink Pad/Marker & cardstock, Island Indigo Ink Pad/Marker & cardstock, Pool Party Ink Pad/Marker & cardstock, Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad & Marker, Daffodil Delight Ink Pad & cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Quatrefancy Designer Paper, Window Sheets, Mosaic Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (flower), Scallop Edge Punch, 1 ¾” Circle Punch, Rhinestone Jewel Accents, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals
