I don't usually make projects for St. Patrick's Day, but after I saw Judy Strickling's leprechaun hats, I knew I had to make some for our teachers at school! Check out Judy's original project here. I created my hat boxes after seeing just the photo of Judy's, so my measurements are a little bit different and the "box" part is a little bit smaller than Judy's. My hat fits about 10 Rolo candies. I picked Rolos because they have a "gold" wrapper and leprechauns love gold!
These little treat boxes are so easy to make and you probably have everything you need at home! Watch my video tutorial and I'll lead you step-by-step through making this project.
TIP: If you don't have the Layering Circle framelits to make a 3" circle for the bottom of the hat, try tracing the bottom of a glass or jar and cutting it out!

Late last month, we had a belated birthday party for my daughter at a local apple orchard. On the weekends, they have inflatables, mini golf, a corn maze, wagon ride, and other fun games and play things. The girls all had fun and they each left with a balloon. To keep the balloons from floating away, I tied each one to a bundle of lollipops and added this cute tag. The sentiment says: "THANK YOU for making my birthday happy".
The tags were super quick! I had the kids help me punch out the flowers and banner ends while I stamped the sentiment. I love the Everyday Label Punch! It's my new favorite! Did you see my post yesterday with the alternative project ideas for the February Paper Pumpkin Kit: Many Happy Birthdays? I love using the pieces from the kit to create different projects. Here are two more ideas!
I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to create the balloons for the card, including punching one of the die cut candle flames from the kit. The balloon strings came from the Balloon Adventures stamp set and I used some additional cardstock in the following colors: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Whisper White. I added some Metallic Enamel Shapes to tie in the gold from the balloon and balance out the spacing of the balloons.
To create the party favor box, I cut apart two of the cards from the kit and added a cardstock bottom.
Here's how to make the "Celebrate" gift box:
Cut the top off of two coordinating cards. I lined up the bottom edge at 4-7/8" on my Stampin' Trimmer. (Note: I used the part that I cut off on the Celebrate card above!)
Score a piece of 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" Pool Party cardstock at 1/2" from each side. Cut on the score lines on opposite ends. Use strong adhesive such as Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape to secure the sides as you fold up the box bottom.
Apply Tear & tape to the bottom of the card bases/box sides. Wrap the box sides around the base, allow the tabs to go inside the box side in opposite corners.
