VIDEO & PDF: Stampin' Up! Butterfly Kisses Arrow Card Tutorial

I have seen the Arrow Card many times over the years -- Barb Hopper Preiss demonstrated it at a team meeting, Mom Susan La Croix shared one during one of our very first Sunday Stamping videos -- but it wasn't until I received an Arrow Card for the Great, Big Card Swap that I finally got it a try myself! And I have to say, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! It was so easy, I kept going and made three variations using the Butterfly Kisses suite from the new 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. Leave a comment below and let me know which of the you prefer!

  • 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Card Base
  • 4" x 5-1/4" Designer Paper
  • 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White Cardstock (inside)
Arrow Card Directions:
  1. Score card base at 4-1/4".
  2. Use a pencil to mark halfway points on the other three sides (2-1/8" on the short side and 2-3/4" on the long side).
  3. Score diagonally from the bottom center mark to each side center mark.
  4. Score diagonally from the bottom center mark to each top corner at the score line.
  5. Fold on the score lines and secure with adhesive to create the arrow fold.
  6. For Designer Paper embellishment, mark at 2-5/8" (center of 5-1/4") and cut from that mark to each corner on the opposite long side.

VIDEO: Pleated Paper Card Video + Love & Affection Sneak Peek

Did you like the Apple of my Eye cards I shared yesterday? I have been hooked on the Pleated Paper technique! I have seen several tutorials with different measurements to do this "Drapery" or "Curtain" fold; some of them are smaller pleats or different size pleats. I came up with my own measurements to make this technique simple and EASY! I know once you try it, you'll be hooked and want to make more!

Here is my latest Pleated Paper card. I used the new Love & Affection stamp set, Affectionately Yours Designer Paper, and Floral Affection Embossing Folders that are NEW and will be coming out in the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog on June 1st. Demonstrators can pre-order these goodies now. Not a demonstrator yet? Find out how you can get the Sneak Peek products NOW

Paper Pumpkin SALE!!
Pay ahead on your Paper Pumpkin subscription or sign-up and pre-pay for a new subscription and save money and get extra rewards during Sale-a-Bration!
Paper Pumpkin Sale
This offer will end on March 31, 2016 at 11:50 PM (MT).

Paper Pumpkin just keeps getting better and better! See some of the past kits on the Paper Pumpkin website here.

Each kit is a surprise, but always includes everything you need, including stamps, ink, and adhesive, to complete the project. The December Kit was a set of calendar pages and a little gold stand. I love it!
One of the things that I love about Paper Pumpkin is that you don't have to make the designed project. You can get creative and make anything you want.

December 2015 Paper Pumpkin One Great Year Project Life page www.juliedavison.comIt turns out the calendar background pieces are 4" x 6" -- perfectly sized for Project Life! And the month stamps and calendar cards are perfect for memory-keeping! Check out some Project Life pages I put together with pieces from the December Paper Pumpkin kit.

TUTORIAL: Thanks A Latte Paper Pumpkin Tea Bag Holder Card

One of my favorite things about Paper Pumpkin is the exclusive stamp set that comes in each kit. I love the July 2015 Thanks a Latte stamp set because it includes a tea cup, an image I don't have in my stamp collection. It reminded of the tea bag holder I created with the Morning Cup stamp set (which I borrowed from a friend) that I made a few years ago. Check out the original project here. Here's my version using supplies from the July 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit.

Most of the supplies came from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I added the base piece of Whisper White cardstock, a 2-1/2" Pumpkin Pie circle, and a Pumpkin Pie marker.

We are finishing up the week at my parents' house in Michigan. The kids have had so much fun at Discovery Camp and yesterday we took the younger ones to explore Greenfield Village, where the older ones attended camp. We took a train ride, went on a Model T, tried out stilts, and enjoyed an authentic 19th century lunch (authentic excluding the peanut butter and jelly for the kids!). The boys went to a Tiger's game with my parents earlier this week and we enjoyed an evening with my cousin Nina, who showed the girls how to make pillows with her sewing machine.

Today, I'm stamping with mom! We added an extra day to our trip since we haven't had any time to just "play". The kids are enjoying cousin time and my sister and mom and I are breaking out the new Holiday Catalog goodies that we pre-ordered. Tomorrow is the long car ride home with the kids. After all the traveling so much in July and August, I am more than ready to get back into a normal schedule! School starts in just 11 days! Not that I'm counting!
