This Little Piggy...Believed She Could!

Have you broken down and gotten this stamp set yet? I just love these little pigs! The sentiment on today's card has always been one of my favorite. "She believed she could...so she did." Yesterday, my 12 year old daughter reminded me of another great gem: "Nothing is impossible. The word itself says 'I'm possible!" (Audrey Hepburn)

It's hard to see in the photo, but I used Clear Wink of Stella on the wings for the perfect shimmer!

This Little Piggy Swap Card

This Little Piggy...is so cute!! I was thrilled to get this stamp set early at the Stampin' Up! On Stage event in April. It was an all-attendee giveaway. I don't like to color, so I used the paper piecing technique on this card that I designed for our new catalog team card swap.

Paper Piecing Technique: I stamped the pig in Basic Black ink on the Whisper White cardstock and again on the Powder Pink (NEW In Color!!) cardstock. I cut around the pink pig and glued him over the Whisper White cardstock. Before attaching the cut out, I watercolored the mud with Sahara Sand and an AquaPainter. TIP: Instead of cutting around the curly tail, just cut it off from the pink cut out and color the Whisper White cardstock using the coordinating Powder Pink marker. Use the marker to also highlight the pig's ears and snout!

This Little Piggy Makes Me Happy

I am obsessed with This Little Piggy! He's just so darn cute! I used the paper-piecing technique again for this card. I really like how sharp the color looks. Just stamp it twice -- once on white and once on Powder Pink and then fussy cut the pig from the pink and glue him over the one on white. Easy peasy! Another great new In Color combination: Berry Burst, Powder Pink, and Lemon Lime Twist.

Sneak Peek: This Little Piggy Card for GDP#082

I love a good sketch challenge! I've been thinking about this sketch for the Global Design Project challenge all week. My task today is to work on my tax return, but I couldn't help but to procrastinate this morning and make a card! I used the This Little Piggy stamp set. These little pigs are so cute! I was so excited when they gave this stamp set to all attendees at On Stage. It will be released in the new annual catalog on June 1st, so you'll have to wait another 6 weeks to get it. But don't wait to order the Blooms & Bliss Designer Paper and Sending Love Ribbon -- they will be gone before the new catalog is released!

 

I stamped the pig image twice -- once on Whisper White cardstock and once on Blushing Bride. I cut out around the Blushing Bride pig and glued that piece over the Whisper White cardstock. This technique is called Paper Piecing. I used the Aquapainter to paint the mud with Sahara Sand ink. I colored the flower with markers.
