VIDEO: Envelope Punch Board Christmas Cracker Box Tutorial

Last month, my friend Robin Armbrecht made a cute little treat box with the Envelope Punch Board for our demonstrator group meeting make and take. I love finding other ways to use my tools, so of course I wanted to share this project with my Stamp Club. I lost the sample Robin gave me, but I found measurements on Connie Collin's blog here. Here's my version of the treat box that looks like a traditional Christmas Cracker.
You can alter the measurements to make the treat box longer or shorter. Robin folded hers so that one side was tucked in and it had a triangular shape.

I used the second set of measurements from Connie's post. The Designer Paper is 5-1/2" x 6". With the 6" side at the top, I scored at 1-1/4" and 4-3/4". With the 5-1/2" side at the top, I scored at 1-1/4", 2-1/2", 3-3/4", and 5". Then, I used the Envelope Punch Board to punch notches in the the folder paper at 1-1/4" from each side. Watch my video tutorial to see how it comes together:

Envelope Punch Board: Santa Suit Gift Card Holder

Here is one of the extra projects I shared on ciLiving yesterday. This is the smallest size envelope that the Envelope Punch Board will make and I added a simple belly band to make it look like Santa's suit! This is a festive way to package a gift card!

Here's a sneak peek at my next video tutorial. Come back after Thanksgiving and I will show you how to make treat boxes like this one using the Envelope Punch Board.

As Seen on TV: Envelope Punch Board Demonstration

This afternoon, I did another Creative Corner segment on ciLiving, our local CBS affiliate's afternoon talk show. This month, I demonstrated the Envelope Punch Board with Matt & Heather and we made an envelope for this 3" x 5-1/2" card. AWO5: Classic Christmas Challenge Card

It's time for another Around the World Challenge! This week's challenge is "Old Christmas". Vintage is not really my style, but I think this card fits the bill with the classic tinsel look.
I really struggled with the spacing of this card and ended up making an odd-sized card. The finished size of this card is 5-1/2" x 6". But making an odd-size card was the perfect excuse to use my new Envelope Punch Board to make a coordinating envelope!
Stampin' Up! Supplies: Special Season stamp set, More Merry Messages stamp set, Smoky Slate ink & textured cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Winter Frost DSP, Silver Ribbon, Pearl Jewel Accents, Silver Glimmer Paper, Envelope Punch Board

I hope you'll play along and post your own Classic Christmas creation for the Around the World AW05 Challenge. Need some inspiration? Click here to see what the rest of the Design Team have created.

Giggle Greetings Envelope Card

I have been having so much fun making envelopes with the new Envelope Punch Board! Last week, I decided to make an envelope that WAS the card! Since the Envelope Punch Board makes 66 different size envelopes, you could make this card any size. Mine is 3" x 3-1/2". Since this was a make and take for party, I wanted to start with a piece of designer paper that was less than 6" x 6" so I could maximize my designer paper.
You have to be careful when you score the designer series paper on the Envelope Punch Board. Don't push to hard with the scoring tool or you might tear the paper. I did that on one card and decided to take the inside piece and use it on a regular card.

FTL256 Clean & Simple Hello Card

In anticipation of the new challenge site, I returned to one of my old favorites: Clean & Simple Stamping to find a sketch for today's card.
I just got the new Tape It stamp set, which mimics the look of washi tape. It's so easy and fun to use and I love that it's not supposed to be straight! This card is 3-1/2" x 5-1/2". I like to make cards this size, but we don't have envelopes that size. I usually use the regular Medium envelopes, but with the Envelope Punch Board, now I can make a coordinating envelope to fit this card perfectly!

The Envelope Punch Board is so easy that is literally took me just a minute to make this envelope! Learn more about this amazing new tool here.

I used another new tool on this card! The new Rotary Trimmer Attachment for the Stampin' Trimmer with the Small Scallop Rotary Cutting Blade. You can see the decorative edge better in this close-up picture of the card:

NEW! Envelope Punch Board: Make Your Own Envelopes

Why go with boring, white, normal-sized envelopes when you can use colorful paper to create everything from itty bitty to long and skinny? The new Envelope Punch Board makes it easy to customize envelopes in up to 66 different sizes!
Envelope Punch Board, #133774, $19.95
My dad was so excited about this announcement at Convention that he told my mom she needed to order TWO!!

Check out this video from Stampin' Up! to see it in action:

Here's what you NEED this new tool:

  • It creates totally customizable envelopes in up to 66 different sizes (not to mention a million different color and pattern options depending on the paper you want to use). Even tried and true envelope sizes will only take you moments to create!
  • It's super easy to use. It looks intimidating at first glance, but all you have to do is measure for the first punch, and turn and score. (Watch the video to see how easy it is!)
  • It's small and lightweight. It's super portable and easy to store. It's small and light enough that they could use it while watching a soccer match, at a park, at a friend's for craft night-anywhere.
  • It even has a slick scoring tool as well as a punch that lets you create rounded corners on your envelopes.
  • It's easy to keep it all together; the stylus storage compartment and two punches are designed into the tool so you don't have a bunch of little pieces to keep track of (even the instructions are printed right on the tool so you won't lose them!).
  • The price is terrific-especially for a tool that does so much!
