(Learn More) I was inspired by a card that Shelli demonstrated at Convention and was surprised to find that it was easier to make than it first appears!

Clean & Simple Bitty Butterfly Card

I'm on a Clean & Simple kick this week! This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest, but my card ended up being much different. The only element that is the same is the butterfly punched with designer paper behind it.

Vintage Chic Decor: "Imagine" Butterfly Mini Frame

Remember the Butterfly Bird Cage I posted a couple of weeks ago? I found the bird cage in the bargain aisle at a local craft store. I also picked up a couple of these mini photo frames that were begging for a Stampin' makeover too! What do you think!?

 

I counted the other day and there are 100 flowers in one package of the 5/8" Flower Trim! What a bargain!

Vintage Chic Decor: Butterfly Bird Cage with Papillon Potpourri

Last month, I went to the local craft store to buy some frames to make another project and came across a small bird cage in the $1 aisle. I took some time earlier this week to "stamp just to stamp" (which doesn't happen often enough for me!) and I dressed up the bird cage. What do you think!?
 

  

I stamped images from Papillon Potpourri in Basic Gray on Pink Pirouette and Primrose Petals cardstock, then punched them out with the coordinating Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches. (The latter is brand new in the Spring Catalog!!) I used Dazzling Details Glitter Glue to add sparkle to each butterfly. When they were dry, I sandwiched two punch outs back to back with a piece of Linen Thread between them. I attached the Linen Thread to the top of the bird cage with a Mini Glue Dot. The Flower Trim (colored with Primrose Petals marker - see "how to" here) is also attached with glue dots and covers up most of the Linen Thread. I used six flowers and cut them apart in 1 or 2 flower segments to get them to lay nicely. The Two-Toned Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!

Spring Catalog Sneak Peak: Feel Goods & Bitty Butterfly Punch

Whew! This week has been intense! It's been a busy one for stamping events, and my overnighted Spring Catalog pre-order will arrive tomorrow, just in time to scramble and prep a project for our demonstrator holiday party in Springfield -- and biggest of all, we experienced a death in the family. Needless to say, my head hurts. And my eyes! I'm ka-pooped! (I think I just made that word up!) I owe you two videos for Stamp of the Month Club projects (second half of the packages going postal on Tuesday!) and there's so much other stuff to share, so hang in there with me! We'll get there!

In the meantime, I've got a quick sneak peek to share with you! I made this card to swap at a demo meeting in October using some supplies left over from my Founder's Circle Make & Takes and the new stamp set from the Spring Catalog called Feel Goods. With the 70 degree weather we've had the last few days in Central Illinois, it feels like Spring, not Winter is upon us!

Papillon Potpourri Thank You Card - Take 1

You know I love coordinating  products, so I was all over the new Papillon Potpourri stamp set and coordinating Elegant Butterfly Punch! It was one of the first things I ordered from the new catalog. I have been making variations of this card all month long using different colors and designer paper combinations. I'll share a few more variations tomorrow once I get some more pictures taken.

Apothecary Butterfly Thank You Card

This was the make and take I offered at my Garage Sale/Open House last weekend. (If you are in Central Illinois and missed the sale, make sure to call or email me to come over for your own private sale...I still have LOTS left over!!)

The make and take was inspired by a card in the catalog, the So Kind of You card on page 190. (View the new catalog here. Don't have a copy yet? Let me know! I will send a free catalog to my customers.)

I used two new In Colors: Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple. I think this would be pretty in blues too!  Baja Breeze and Midnight Muse would be gorgeous together!

The card size is just slightly narrower than normal. The finished size is 5-1/2 x 4". I wanted to be able to cut the designer paper most efficiently, but I also wanted the paper to go all the way to the edge of the card.
