Stampin' Up! Reason for the Season Christmas Card

Two step stamps make it so easy to create beautiful cards quickly and easily! This image has three layers: the outline in black, the poinsettia in Cherry Cobbler and the leaves in Garden Green. And since the stamp set is Photopolymer, it is a snap to line them up perfectly! If you're making a lot of Christmas cards this year, consider a design like this. The Gold Glitz Dazzling Details in the center of the flower and embossing folder background really step up this card!

Classic Combo: Lovely as a Tree + Work of Art

Last week, I attended "Card Club" with some of my stamping friends. It's essentially a "shoebox swap" for those who are familiar with that concept. We each brought a project that was ready to stamp and then we passed the boxes around the table and took turns making each other's cards. We usually have a theme and this month, the theme was "Lovely as a Tree". This is the oldest stamp set in the current catalog. I picked it out in my Demonstrator Starter Kit over 12 years ago and it is still a favorite! Almost everyone else in our Card Club group owns this stamp set too, so it was fun to see what everyone else created. (Come back tomorrow and I will share the other samples.)

For my card, I wanted to combine a new classic with an old one. I used the Work of Art stamp set to create a monochromatic brushstroke background on these cards. Here is the first one I designed:
You can't see it well in the photo, but I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the snowy ground beneath the tree. I love the "peace & joy" greeting from the new Giggle Greetings stamp set. This stamp set will be available exclusively to hostesses when the Holiday Catalog starts later this week!
Ultimately, I decided it was a little early for Christmas, so I used up some cardstock I already had cut and picked a different tree and a different brushstroke stamp to create this masculine thank you card.

Another Great Year: Paper-Piecing Banners

I CASEd this card from my friend Robin Armbrecht who designed the make and takes for our last team meeting. I changed the colors in attempt to make it more masculine, but honestly, the heart on the cupcake makes it a little girly, so I went ahead and added the rhinestone and glitter!

Simply Sketched Heartfelt Sympathy Card

I hate making sympathy cards. I usually don't have any on hand, so I make them when I need them. Which means that while I am making the card, I am thinking of the loved one who has experienced the loss. Of all the cards I make, the sympathy cards are truly the most heartfelt. Here's one I had to send out this week.

Vintage Chic Decor: Butterfly Bird Cage with Papillon Potpourri

Last month, I went to the local craft store to buy some frames to make another project and came across a small bird cage in the $1 aisle. I took some time earlier this week to "stamp just to stamp" (which doesn't happen often enough for me!) and I dressed up the bird cage. What do you think!?

I stamped images from Papillon Potpourri in Basic Gray on Pink Pirouette and Primrose Petals cardstock, then punched them out with the coordinating Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches. (The latter is brand new in the Spring Catalog!!) I used Dazzling Details Glitter Glue to add sparkle to each butterfly. When they were dry, I sandwiched two punch outs back to back with a piece of Linen Thread between them. I attached the Linen Thread to the top of the bird cage with a Mini Glue Dot. The Flower Trim (colored with Primrose Petals marker - see "how to" here) is also attached with glue dots and covers up most of the Linen Thread. I used six flowers and cut them apart in 1 or 2 flower segments to get them to lay nicely. The Two-Toned Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!

Do you love butterflies!? Click here to see more samples using the Papillon Potpourri stamp set on my blog.

Stamp of the Month Club: Polar Party

I love sitting down to create a set of projects for my Stamp of the Month Club. I try to use the same color palette on all of the projects and I try to use the same set of accessories in different ways. It's a fun challenge and when everything comes out just as I envision is my head...it's a great feeling! I think I did actually squeal out loud when I finished this month's set! The stamp set I selected is Polar Party. (Read More about my Stamp of the Month Club. It's not too late to join for this month and get a Clear Mount stamp set and these hand-stamped cards.)

Here is the first card in the set of three. I was inspired by a sample in the catalog. This one is 4-1/4" x 4-1/4". I like making card that are different sizes!

Witches Broom Candy Treat

Happy Halloween!! Here's a fun treat I made up with a chocolate Twizzler inside one of our 1x8 cello bags. I used the packing paper that comes in the Stampin' Up! orders and embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I think I could have made the bristles longer, but you still get the idea!

I saw an image posted on Facebook with a witches broom and the sentiment "Yes, I know how to drive a stick!". Hee hee! Happy Halloween from me and my goblins!

I'm setting up to film a video this afternoon to show you how to make the glittery face on the witch. But I'm adding this dazzling watercolor effect to another project! I'll post it tomorrow, so be sure to check back!

Summer Starfruit Bird Birthday Card

I had a great time stamping with Amanda and her friends on Saturday. (Thanks again for hosting, Amanda!) I always ask my hostesses if they have any special requests for projects. Amanda wanted to make a birthday card, so that's what we did! Since the In Color Stitched Ribbon is available for FREE with a $40 order in September (see details here), I made sure to incorporate some ribbon on the card.

The For the Birds stamp set was at the top of my list when the new catalog came out. I love that it is versatile and covers many occasions and the images already include words. It's a great set for new stampers -- and so cute to boot! Click here to find it in my Online Store. We added a little sparkle to the wings with the Dazzling Details glitter glue.
