Whether you are coming from the creative and talented

or just joining us -- welcome to the November 2017 Control Freaks Blog
Tour! It's been awhile since I have been able to participate in a blog
tour, but I am so excited to share some Holiday projects with you.
It's not even Thanksgiving yet, but as crafters, we need to work ahead a little bit. I know some of you have been doing your holiday crafting for a couple months already! I hope these ideas with inspire you as we get down to these last four weeks before Christmas.
I'm focusing on the Christmas Quilt Suite. I love all the coordinating products: the Quilted Christmas designer paper 6" x 6" stack, striped ribbon, and stitched felt. This first card is a clean and simple 4" x 4" card. I used the Labels to Love stamp set along with the Everyday Label Punch.
I think the Everyday Label Punch is my favorite new punch! You can use it so many ways. I used it to make tags for these treat boxes.
To make these Wrap Around Treat boxes:
- Score two pieces of 2” x 6” Quilted Christmas
Designer Paper at 1-1/4”, 3-3/8”, and 4-3/8”. The first 1-1/4” section is the
bottom of the box. Put the designer paper pieces together with the “good” sides
out. Punch a ¾” circle in the top of both layers of the designer paper.
- Fold the designer on the score lines. Put a
piece of Tear & Tape at the bottom of one designer paper strip and attach
the other designer paper to that (while wrapped around the box for placement).
Use Tear & Tape or other adhesive to attach the top of the designer papers
to each other.
The last card is one I designed for my Stamp of the Month Club card kit for October. I was inspired by a card I saw on the swap display board while on the Thailand incentive trip. I made up my own measurements to fit the Quilted Christmas designer paper. The base is 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 ½”, 6 ¾”, 9 ¼” and 10 ½”. The front piece is 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" -- scored at 3-3/4" and 5". I'll be posting a video this week with some tips for assembling the Step Panel card as well as another sample using Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek products! Be sure to check back to watch!
Check out the stitched detail on the designer paper! There's a die in the Quilt Builder
framelit set that fits the designer paper (as well as the image from the
Christmas Quilt stamp set). It's the little details like this that make the Quilted Christmas Suite so special!
I hope you enjoyed my projects! Be sure to visit again for more project ideas!
For now, it's time to continue on with the blog hop. Next up is the incredible
Melissa Davies! You'll love what she has created for you!
