Virtual Open House Projects + VIDEO

I used to host an in-person open house when new catalogs were released. I collaborated with a some other area demonstrators and we had a great set up that included display boards, make and takes, and demonstration tables. The Covid-19 pandemic put a little wrinkle in our ability to gather like we used to and so I moved my open house to Facebook and tried to offer the same kind of experience online. Of course it's not the same as being in person, but I was able to connect with all of my stamping friends across the country would never had the opportunity to attend in person!

When the new Annual Catalog launched on Tuesday, I held a Virtual Open House in a special VIP Facebook Group. I chose Facebook because of the built-in community aspect. It's already set up for interacting, commenting, and sharing photos. All day long, I posted project ideas, product highlights and tips. Tuesday evening, I did a Facebook Live and did a Catalog Tour, demonstrated two projects, and gave away 8 prizes -- to celebrate hitting my $800,000 Career Sales Milestone! (See winning numbers below!)

Here is the first of the two "Mystery Stamping" projects that we made during the Virtual Open House. It's a Vertical Diorama Card using the new Party Puffins stamp set. Aren't these puffins the cutest? I can't get enough!

The second project is another "window" card featuring one of my favorite suites and an marker technique!
Stampin' Up! Beauty of Friendship Window Card & Thumping Technique Card + VIDEO Tutorial ~ 2021-2022 Annual Catalog ~ www.juliedavison.com #stampinup

It's actually two cards -- one that opens the opposite direction with an image that peeks through the front window. To get the multi-color foliage, I inked the stamp in a light color (Bumblebee) an then used the darker marker (Cajun Craze) to "thump" color on top of the image before stamping. Watch this technique in action in the video below. This project starts at 47.39.

Measurements:
  • 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” Colored Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4”
  • 5-1/4” x 8” White Cardstock, scored at 4”
  • 1” x 4-1/4” Designer Paper
  • 3/4” x 3-1/2” Accent Color Cardstock
