Easter Egg Chick Card & Peekaboo Puppet

Happy Easter! I hope you are having an amazing weekend filled with love and creativity! We are enjoying a visit with my family. Earlier in the week, we did an egg hunt and some Easter crafts at our girl scout meeting. I saw a similar idea to this chick clothespin on line and had to make it my own way!

I used the Balloon Bouquet punch to make the egg and chick inside! Check out this cuteness!!

At Home With You Card + Stamp of the Month Club Kit Reveal

I had a hard time choosing a stamp set to feature in November since Christmas is coming so soon. So I turned to the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and picked a stamp set that includes lots of "accessory" stamps and would be ideal for card-making throughout the year. The At Home With You stamp set was the obvious choice! The colors I chose for this month's card designs lend themselves well to all occasions cards. This first card is my favorite -- using the stamp set in the classic way to create a door scene. I love that the framelits include a die that will die cut the door on three sides so that it opens!

I stamped the door on Whisper White cardstock and then again on Tranquil Tide. I added some detail with the Tranquil Tide marker and then cut out the center of the door to attach to the white door. A second piece of Whisper White cardstock was glued to the back to reveal the inside message.

I used the Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color the flowers, wreath, and candle. For the Tranquil Tide coloring, instead of using the marker directly, I used a blender pen to pick up the ink color from the lid of the ink pad. This allowed me to get a lighter shade so the color didn't overpower the stamped lines of the image.

Check out this video from Stampin' Up! to learn more about this bundle and see a couple more ideas:

May Paper Pumpkin Alternative Samples + Flash Sale

When I need to find my mojo, I turn to a kit. I love having all the pieces ready to go and finding new ways to put them together. My mojo was needing a kick in the pants this weekend, so the arrival of my May Paper Pumpkin Kit on Saturday was perfect timing! This month's kit was designed to create four full size cards and two mini cards, but I added 3 extra card bases and made a total of 8 cards with all of the pieces.

I love the colors and theme of this kit and I just realized last week that I don't have a Father's Day stamp, and now I do! Here are the first three of the eight cards that I created. Be sure to check back to see the other projects in a couple days.

Holiday Catalog Control Freaks Blog Tour: Thankful Tablescape Alternative Projects

Whether you're hopping over from Judy DiScipio's blog or just arriving -- welcome!! This month the Control Freaks are sharing projects created from brand new products in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. I hope we are inspiring you to get started on your holiday crafting!

I chose to use the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit for my projects today. I have four kids under the age of 10 who certainly don't appreciate beautiful table decorations, so I wanted to use the pieces in this kit to make cards and other projects.

The Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit (#133463) includes napkin holders (cardstock holders, Designer Series Paper belly bands, name banners, journaling cards); table tents (Designer Series Paper bases, die-cut chalkboard labels, White Stampin’ Chalk Marker); centerpiece wraps (birch paper ribbon, Chocolate Chip paper ribbon); accents (Linen Thread and die-cut printed leaves). So there were lots of pieces to pick and choose from in creating my projects.

Here's what I did with the "napkin holder". I just folded over the top so that it would be a closed pouch ready for gift-giving.

For the next project, I used the new Flip Card Thinlit Dies. Have you tried these yet? They are so, so easy! I used the designer paper, wrap, and linen thread from the Thankful Tablescape Kit on this card.

For my last card, I used the "centerpiece wraps" from the Thankful Tablescape Kit and also the die cut leaf. I used the Autumn Accents die to cut another leaf from the Tangerine "belly band" included in the kit.

VIDEO: Herringbone Faux Quilt Technique Tutorial

I'm finally catching up on my "to do" list since coming home from Convention and one of those things was a video tutorial for the Herringbone Technique. You may remember the Herringbone Halloween card that I posted last month as part of the Control Freaks Blog Tour. (See it here.) Here's a new card that I made just for the video tutorial. I love the colors in the Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper.

This is another one of those techniques that you'll want to keep trying over and over again. It looks different every time you make it! Even when you use the same paper, you can get a different look by changing the order that you use the patterns. Click here to see more Herringbone Faux Quilt cards.

Lacy & Lovely Hello Heart Card

Here's another banner-turned-card that I made in the "I am Creative" class at Convention. The color combination looks a little odd on it's own, but when this card is with the others (see one here), it makes more sense.  When of the fun things about this class was watching the presentations by Stampin' Up! concept artists and learning their tips for using products in new ones. One thing is for sure, those girls love Summer Starfruit!!

Affection Collection Convention Make & Take

Here's a sneak peek from the Holiday Catalog, which comes out on Wednesday. This stamp set, Affection Collection, was one that we received at Convention and this card was one of our make and takes. I wasn't keen on the stamp set at first, but it's growing on me! Can't wait to play some more with this set at home.

Lacy & Lovely Banner Card

At Convention, I took an extra class called "I am Creative". The class project was to make a banner, but since I'm not much of a banner hanger, I decided to convert each of the banners into a card front. This one was my favorite:
